I have a saying I always use at times like this...
"Hey....it's because of kids like yours that birth control was invented."

DUH! You did NOT see her crawling under and around the table kicking other customers. :jameo:

The mother knew.

I had an old woman use the Birth Control line on me once. She was very old and impaired. I walked by with my kids and she was startled. My kids were walking nicely holding my hands. She said "You would think they would know how to use Birth Control nowadays" If she had been a few decades younger I would have knocked her block off. Her age saved her. I got the feeling she said this a lot. She was hard of hearing so she screamed this information. Nanny Pam were you in the Ranch Club last summer?

Before bringing your crew of kids to Applebee's, maybe you should either

a) Teach your children how to behave in a public place; especially a restaurant where other people are trying to enjoy their meal

or

b) Stop feeding them so much sugar

The 4 adults sat at one table, the 4 kids at another. Two of these kids, one being Francesca, were extremely wound up. The adults sat at their table having a good time, ignoring the kids. At least three times Francesca and the boy sitting next to her were underneath the table, or crawling around on the seat. Twice Francesca kicked two other customers that were passing by because her feet were dangling off the bench as she was laying on her stomach. The third time that they were crawling under the table, one of the other kids knocked over their drink and spilled it all over Francesca. The child had a panic attack thinking she was in trouble. The mother consoled her telling her it was not her fault. DUH! You did NOT see her crawling under and around the table kicking other customers. If they were taught how to behave in public, the drink would, more than likely, not have spilled. These kids were also VERY loud. I couldn't wait to finish my meal and get the heck out!

:jameo:

And I'm betting the tip they left was minimal!

Sounds to me like it was a case of you being up tight and kids being kids. Now i have a problem when kids are truely out of control and causing a problem, but the only thing close to that you mentioned was kicking the people as they walked by b/c the girl had her legs hanging out the booth (sounds pretty incidental to me). Now if the kids had the run of the place and were going from table to table, or were throwing stuff, etc, i'd have a problem. But a table of kids making a little noise and spilling drinks.... who cares.

Besides the fact that it is rude and disrespectful for the kids to be acting in such a manner, any idea how dirty the floor of a restaurant probally is? I've got money on the fact that the kids certainly didn't wash their hands between crawling around the floor and placing french fry in mouth.....:yuck:

what, do you people think you live in the world by yourselves?

No. I actually think I live in a world that must be shared, so I try to be considerate of others when we must share the same space. Unlike parents who allow their kids to crawl all over the place, play in traffic, crawl on strangers, beg strangers for food, etc.

Are you sure you're not retarded?

It is a parent's job to define acceptable behavior to a child, and to ensure the child learns to act respectably in public. If little Frannie was not using her "indoor voice", if little Frannie could not keep her fanny in the seat, if little Frannie and her cohorts were getting rambunctious enough to cause a cup to be knocked over, than Frannie's parent(s) are failing Frannie. Frannie will most likely grow up to be a self-centered, obnoxious adult who won't know how to properly raise her children should she ever have any. :frown:
