It is a parent's job to define acceptable behavior to a child, and to ensure the child learns to act respectably in public. If little Frannie was not using her "indoor voice", if little Frannie could not keep her fanny in the seat, if little Frannie and her cohorts were getting rambunctious enough to cause a cup to be knocked over, than Frannie's parent(s) are failing Frannie. Frannie will most likely grow up to be a self-centered, obnoxious adult who won't know how to properly raise her children should she ever have any. :frown:
And will most likely not appreciate other cultures.

So happy!
I can't belive some of the this that have been said in here. Are you kidding me? If my kid even came close to acting like that in public I would beat her azz and in front of everyone to see so she would know better next time. Yea kids will be kid but that is on called for. And Speedy has the right to be pissed. If we me I would have made it to were the parents would want to leave.

And they might have to resort to posting on a forum vs. actual physical interaction. :lmao:

Sounds to me like it was a case of you being up tight and kids being kids. Now i have a problem when kids are truely out of control and causing a problem, but the only thing close to that you mentioned was kicking the people as they walked by b/c the girl had her legs hanging out the booth (sounds pretty incidental to me). Now if the kids had the run of the place and were going from table to table, or were throwing stuff, etc, i'd have a problem. But a table of kids making a little noise and spilling drinks.... who cares.

Trust me, it was not a "little" noise.

apparently one of the few who isn't

what, do you people think you live in the world by yourselves?
No, the prblem is that kids are being raised to believe that they do. If you take your kids out to a nice meal, say to celebrate a birthday, and you're spending your hard earned money, would you appreciate if I confront my husband and have a big yelling match with him at the table next to you....I mean, really, couples fight, right, sounds to me just like married people being married people..... :elaine:

I know no one cares what I think but my 2 cents...

Midnight rider, Love the quote, I'm a big Zevon fan.

When I was growing up I was taught to behave like a human in public, respect adults, and eat like a human not an animal.

Sure kids will be kids. But there are boundaries. Without respect and consideration of people around you, you get inconsiderate, ignorance, and chaos... Like DC.

Okay so maybe it was a dime.

Do you mean DC, as in District of Columbia?

Oh for crap sake people get some perspective, it was Applebees not some 5 star restaurant requiring advance reservations! If the kids were bothering you so much why didn’t you just confront the parents or ask the manager to say something to the parents?
