You are missing the point..... It offensive to Dixie for anyone to use the term "tard" because her son is disabled and it hurts when insensitive people throw around terms without understanding.

I get it. And I've already said that I never claimed to be "sensitive" or "PC", as I called it.
My counter is that Dixie is simply being oversensitive. A couple people here have already said they've developed a 'callous' to this sort of thing. There's lots of things that people say in life that you need to develop callouses toward.

It also shouldn't allow her to get her underwear in a bunch anytime someone makes a reference to retarded kids. Jeez, so many people defending one woman who got upset about a kid called a Tard. I've seen some of you dish out far worse.

When did this forum become the proverbial poster child for Internet PCness? :shrug: People on here have different beliefs and feelings about all kinds of things ... from the size of our boobs to the color of our hair to our favorite tv show to our favorite drink to our personal life experiences to our kids to our jobs to God knows what else ... oh, dayum, I forgot religion.
If we all sat here all dayum day and cited what "offended" each of us, there's be zero interesting conversation and debate on this forum b/c everyone would be running to admin to tattle b/c their wittle feewings were hurt
The folks who are whining should grow a set already
I don't know anyone on here who would truly, honestly say someone's kid that happens to have a true disability is a little tard. It's a freakin' expression ... like 'blonde' ... or 'pollock' or 'WOP' (which I am, and don't take offense to) ...
