Wonder how long the retraction will be in coming and what page it will be on?
I just read that crap. They are pushing this way over the edge.

Why don't we just put the prisoners in apartments with color TV, showers, and their own cook and maid service. These are prisoners damn it (sorry Vrai), but this just pizzez me off so much. These people are prisoners of war and need to be treated as such. Lock em up and throw the key away. A dog in front of a prisoner does not constitute abuse. This crap is definitely getting out of hand.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Too bad Jesse Jackson isn't here. While I'm speaking for the whole Republican party, he can represent the "Black Community".

They're not getting the public reaction they had hoped for. Sure, a few bulldozer people are bawling their eyes out but, in general, We The People couldn't care less about Iraqi POWs. So they must get more and more outrageous with their stories.

Next up: Prison guards force Iraqi mothers to boil and eat their own infants as George Bush looks on approvingly and asks, "You gonna eat all that?"

I saw that the other day. Yet last night on Fox, they skipped it over completely and just said Cosby spoke at Temple.

O'Reilly was discussing it with Rev Sombody or other. This person was quite obviously offended by Cosby's remarks. He said things like "Single Mother's shouldn't be demonized, they should be given medals" or some such bullshit. (Like anyone is demonizing them in the first place.)

I've actually heard quite a bit about in the news (even the liberal media) about Cosby's comments, and the subsequent gasps of horror and shock from the NAACP because he'd dare say such horrible things.

The fact of the matter is that if the NAACP and people like Rev Sombodyorother would take their fingers out of their ears, and stop singing "LA-LA-LA!" most of the problems that the Coz pointed out the other day could be address, and they might make some progress, and a lot of the ugliness and racial tension would be alleviated.

But it seems a community, like an individual, cannot begin healing until they get past the denial.

Funny thing: Whenever anyone white critisizes the black community, they're racist. Whenever anyone black critisizes the black community, they're traitors.

See, when Jesse Jackson speaks to mostly black audiences, he emphasizes the point that Cosby was making, and really pushes personal responsibility. He doesn't do that with white audiences. Instead, he pushes white guilt with the goal of getting more money from them. Either he's inherently two-faced, or he really believes that whites will forever discriminate in hiring and lending. Or maybe both. Whatever the case, that's sad.

I've never heard Jesse Jackson preach to his own, but if that's the case, I think it's simply that he's pushing for reform from the white community (where he sees injustices), while trying to push reform in the black community as well (where he sees problems). Sounds like he's trying to attack Civil Rights reform from both sides of the coin (as it should be done), but the problem is by not preaching both sides to everyone, he comes off as being one-sided.

Exactly. He leaves himself open to accusations of racial ambulance-chasing, like Sharpton. That's my frustration with people who advocate slavery reparations--don't they realize they are giving the real racists confirmation for their delusions?

(Jeez, now I sound like Elliott on DC101. Both he and Flounder are Jewish, and whenever Flounder says he doesn't like to spend money, Elliott plays Hava Nagila and says, "There he goes again, confirming the stereotype of the Cheap Jew.")

I've never seen any reports or ever before heard anyone say that Reverend Jesse criticized anyone but the suppressive Whitey. If you have any links to Jesse criticizing his poor downtrodden bros, I'd like to see it.

Actually, I'd like to see it too.

It's been a while, but I'll see what I can find. From what I remember, Jesse didn't phrase it as calling people to task, but just a need for people to be responsible and live their lives responsibly.

For all I know, Jesse might subscribe to the "don't talk out of school" philosophy.

I second that. Larry refers frequently to this phantom Jackson that everybody's heard of but no one's ever seen. Methinks it's more of an urban legend than fact.

Cosby is the Anti Jesse.
For some reason, the media had nothing to say about Cosby's speech until there was a big uproar.
What does this have to do with "tortured Iraqi's"??

His wife incurred my wrath when their son was killed and she made that big speech about how racist white America was to blame because they taught her son's killer to hate blacks. :duh:

Thanks for bringing that up. I knew there was something anti white by one of the Cosby's but couldn't remember the particulars.
