Trees down calls...

Now if it was the 17th street pier I would be sad. I grew up in Va Bch, lots of memories.
They're not doing so good during this storm. I live in Elizabeth City so we get Hampton Roads news. Lots of very serious flooding up there.

Having Fun!

OMG! My 5th grade teacher played that for us in school! My favorite part was each time Noah said, "riiiiiiiiiiiiight"! The only time I ever laughed more was when I saw his "Bill Cosby: Himself" on cable years ago. When he did the dentist piece with the novacain I laughed so hard I fell off the couch! The man is hysterical!!

And the cubit bit??? :killingme:killingme:killingme:killingme

Thanks for bringing up that memory for me!

Seemed approprite given we may ALL be asking "how long can we tread water" by morning. What a soggy mess it is out there!

we got family in Newport News and Va Beach. Will be calling them in the morning to see how things are. Both are near tidal creeks. :howdy:

They call me ... Sarcasmo
Raining a lot more down here than Chuck Co. No real flooding where and when I passed but it 's close in some spots.

I was surprised to see that it wasn't flooded near the drug dealers house, but Muddy Creek is all swolled up and laying in the road.

Hearing many tree down calls. Pax reports winds 26kt gust 38kt.

Power is back in CRE.

Heard report of tree down w/ live wires, called for SMECO, no ETA. Rocking Horse off Catalina in CRE.

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT MOVING DOWN POWER LINES. THEY CAN KILL YOU. WAIT FOR SMECO.

Here are photos of that pier: I was in the hotel just up the beach....

Lynnhaven Pier:

and the web site about the Pier

Great pictures Katelin. Thanks for sharing. Glad you made it through the storm. I grew up in Va Bch but I lived in the First Colonial area and then down on 55th street for my high school years. I had to search for where the Lynnhaven Pier was as I did not remember it. I do remember a restaurant in that proximity I belive it was called the Duck Inn. My dad loved that place. I did a search and it is gone too.

I haven't been back to Va Bach since 1995 so I bet it has changed alot. I did make it to Chesapeake in 2005 for a overnight trip but did not get anywhere near the beach. It was a great place to grow up though. You never lacked for something to do.:buddies:
