Tricker Treaters where are you?

A couple of people that post here live in my hood, so they know exactly which house I’m talking about.

One of the houses had creepy music blaring, a dark driveway and creepy decorations from the driveway to the door. A man, dressed in black made frightening comments as we approached the house, pacing back and forth in his dark getup.

My son and I walked up the driveway and he let go of my hand and took a few steps back. He told the guy to put the candy down on the sidewalk and back away. :killingme – The guy did it too. :shocking: He took a few steps, changed his mind and went screaming down the driveway. It was absolutely hysterical. Of course, mom got his candy, but me, the creepy dark dressed guy, his wife (who was peaking out the window) and some others passing by were cracking up laughing. :roflmao:

One of the houses in my neighborhood had a Freddie vs. Jason theme going on. Smoke machines, loud music, Kids screaming and running in terror.

One group of giddy teenage girls visited my garage. They saw the little 5-watt back porch light that stays on all the time and they strolled in from the back street, up the neighbor's driveway, through the dark night's gloom around the compost bin, and knocked on the back door of the garage.

I was hiding in the nearby shrubbery and I could hardly keep from laughing.

Next year throw caution to the wind! Screw in a 15 Watt bulb and mist some CKOne over the compost bin.

There was one little girl who came to the door who couldn't have been more than 9 or 10 dressed in a sexy adult cop costume who asked DH if he was looking for a good time. He then tried to hold himself back from laughing while replying no that he was married and had a baby on the way. She asked what that mattered for? She then asked if she could have a piece of candy that had dropped on the deck and as she bent down to get it told him that she would do anything for money. :jameo:

Last year the littlest pig was asleep by the time trick or treating started so pops just took the oldest out. I had 4 trick or treaters all night. This year we hooked a wagon thingy up to the back of the lawn tractor and we all rolled out. I did leave a bowl of candy on the front porch and all the lights on. After about an hour we came home to get the truck so we could go to a friend's house and the bowl hadn't been touched. Add another hour when we got home for the night and there was maybe a couple pieces gone.

All of our neighbors were so tickled to see the rats. Apparently most of the kids in CRE head over to drum point.

There were tons of kids out and about in Laurel Ridge last night. My sister and I had our girls sitting in the back of our open vehicle, until someone my sister knew told us the cops were in the neighborhood writing tickets to people with kids in the backs of pickups, vans, etc. She said she saw someone get a ticket for $180. So we hustled our kids back into the vehicle, and continued on.

Then we went to the Boo-Through at the Golden Beach firehouse, and it was a riot....our girls were screaming so loud I thought I'd lose an eardrum. They did a real nice job with it, and there was a long line to get in. Of course we saw lots of pickups filled with kids, and a couple of trailers pulling loads of kids. Heck, the cops could have set up right there and had an easy time nabbing those trick-or-treaters.

Our husbands were at the house passing out candy and most of the candy was gone by 9:00, so they had quite a few kids come by. We saw mobs of people all through the neighborhood, it was busy out. We saw lots of fun, cute costumes too, it was a good time.

I was hauling the little kids in the truck and a teenager came next door where all my neighbors set up with a t-shirt that said "This is my costume, now give me the damn candy".

He didn't get any.:ohwell:

Is this the only place where kids do that? I was a dedicated trick-or-treater as a kid (needed a pillowcase to haul the loot home) and stood at my parents' door to give out candy after I got too old, and I NEVER saw anybody asking for candy with no costume. Down here, that's really common. I was pleasantly surprised last night; we only got a couple no-costume kids showing up. In previous years, seemed like half of them.

Those are also the same kids who say nothing, just stick the bag out. No "trick or treat", no "thank you". :buttkick:

What is with the parents that drive their kids from house to house in a friggin neighborhood? Those kids will probably grow up to be big fat fatties.

We walked half the neighborhood, then drove the second half. My niece has JRA and her ankles were starting to hurt.

Kids started popping by at 6:30 and we were out of candy by 7:15. I had to send a friend up to CVS for more.

I had expected to find a lot of rude people stop by, but was pleasantly suprised that I only had one group of teens that was. :yay:

I did see a lot of mom's with kids under 2 in strollers asking for candy. I take it Devil's Night was a prime-time for PMS this year. :lmao:

When we moved to Calvert many years ago, we had to drive our kids to my parents' neighborhood because there were only a few houses in our neighborhood and they were just too far apart to make walking an an option. Even in my parents' neighborhood, we followed with a car if we had younger kids that just couldn't make it because of the distance between the houses. I know a lot of people whose kids are in the same situation today.

I too have always had to drive the Bug to a neighborhood. I park the car and walk it with her.

We never felt right about going to just any neighborhood, so we went to my parents. The houses weren't very close together. Everybody's sitiuation is different, I suppose.
