Perfect day for the crock pot roast I didn't make last week. Starting to smell pretty good! :yum:
We're going to pig out today. Two of our close friends made us a stuffed ham. The Columbian family that runs Piney Point market is making 100 of their awesome empanadas that my son was addicted to...Tall Timbers oysters on the half shell and also fried..and on and on. There is going to be wayyyy to much food at Tall Timbers today.

At this point, I just decided that my looking at the pine trees swaying wasn't helping my mood any, so I pulled the curtains shut. I wish @sleuth was still around. I'll bet he could figure out a way to get my lot cleared AND get paid for the wood. :ohwell:

Leading edge of the storm system hit the Rockport - Gloucester area north of Boston about 1/2 hour ago.
My friend John, who is a lifelong Gloucesterman, said the rain had just started and winds were 10 MPH.

Well, our daughter that rents our basement apartment ar home just called and said we have a big limb from a beech tree down right next to the house. It was enough to make the house shake a bit when it landed. Its cover the pump station for our septic, but drop what she can tell didn't break the concrete or anything. If that's the worst that happens I'll be happy!

I’m hearing reports and have seen at least one pic of water over the bulkhead at the Port. Another hour and a half until high tide.
Waterfront living is great!

Really gotta say, as storms go, this was a huge disappointment. The sat pics really made it look like we were in for it. Before the storm hit, I was in the store and checked the TP aisles and milk. I didn't get any, but I wanted to see if there was panic buying. Nope. Waited all day as events we were scheduled to attend were cancelled.

And then waited for the shoe to drop. Nope. Just - rain. Lots of wind, but not significantly more than any other storm.

Worst I had was water up to my back door where it runs down the hill.

no trees down. No big limbs or branches. Even S. Sandgates Rd. remained unflooded.

We traveled up to Asbury Park for a wedding on Friday. The ceremony was supposed to be on the beach but that certainly didn't happen! Heavy rain, high winds and very angry waves.
Despite the weather, the wedding and reception were awesome! It was GREAT to see my family. Many of us stayed in the same hotel and hung out a lot. My husband is also home now and he hasn't seen them in many years.
We had a pine tree snap in half and it knocked down a small maple. There are a lot of sticks and twigs to be cleaned up. No biggie!
