They were graduating school in the late 2000’s and the financial crisis caused by Bush caused record unemployment, not sure if you heard of the Great Recession.
So yes, in effect a gun was held to their head, for survival they had to get a job and companies that paid decent were only considering college grads...and what did college’s due? Continue to increase the cost of college tuition with really no improvement in the level of education.
the economy is better now because of Trump, we recognize most degrees are a joke, but 10 years ago that wasn’t the case. I get there seems to be some type of collective amnesia here, but 2007-2009 was a scary time for the economy, especially for those who were just starting in their career.
And for the comments that “well they should be plumbers or mechanics”, the only reason that those jobs are paying high wages are because there is a lack of skilled labor. The same was true of pharmacists a few years ago, now the market is flooded with them. I guarantee you in a few years there will be a glut of plumbers, welders, and mechanics due to the younger generation going into trade schools. It’s actually already happening to welders...

That's funny, almost 40 years working in and around the skilled trades and I have never had a problem being employed....
Maybe you should tell all these unemployed welders to move to the Heartland, we have plenty of welding positions open out here....
But,. You gotta have worthwhile certificates in the welding world too peanut....
