Trump vs. DeSantis

He is banning books that teach about slavery and our countries history becuase it makes him feel bad to hear the truth.

None of the books he is banning are overtly sexual.

It's all a stupid culture war to get idiots like you behind him because republicans have no popular policies or do anything to help anyone.

They have to rely on stupid stunts like this.

Do you know how much the county Disney is in is now going to have to pay for the upkeep of a private business? They will be broke in 5 years.

So here's the thing. The public school system is controlled by the government. All that happened here is that the government made a decision on their curriculum. If you don't like it, you can vote them out. Make an issue of it and you can vote in the guy who agrees to restore the books. Seems like most of the people in Florida supported it because DeSantis was re-elected by a huge margin. And you do always have the option of sending your kid to a private school that might be more in line with your beliefs.

And it's not like they were removed from the planet. Anyone who wants their kids to read them can have them do so just by buying them or checking them out from a library. You know, parenting. Just because the school doesn't teach something, doesn't mean you can't.

Now compare that with the woke left progressives that when they don't like something, they seek to CANCEL it totally. Like comedian Dave Chappelle who made some transgender jokes and the left went nuts and tried to pressure Netflix into getting rid of Chappelle. When the left doesn't like something, they generally don't want anyone to be able to experience it. And oh by the way, the right is not above this either. It's wrong no matter who does it. If you don't like something, don't watch it, listen to it, or read it. But don't stop me from doing it. That is an attack on freedom.

Way too many words for SMC to comprehend.

Media watch: DeSantis Exposes Book-Ban Hoax

At Ron DeSantis’ recent “Book Ban Hoax” presser, the Florida gov corrected a “misleading narrative,” writes Dave Seminara at City Journal. First, the event showed clips of reporters criticizing him “for his alleged attacks on free speech,” “empty bookshelves” in school libraries and “bans on books” about black baseball stars. Yet then he showed images of sexually explicit content found in the schools, and “local TV cut their feed,” thus proving DeSantis’ point — some books in school libraries “contain inappropriate content.” It turns out only “23 school districts in Florida have removed a total of 175 books,” most of them pornographic, violent or otherwise inappropriate. DeSantis has not banned books; “Floridians can still buy any book [they] want, whether or not inappropriate titles are removed from school libraries.”

Deantis was reelected before his attack on the school boards, libraries and private businesses like Disney.

Libraries are a place to provide things for people who cant otherwise afford them or access them. That is the entire point of libraries dummy

Elementary school libraries and public libraries are two different entities "dummy".
Disney is a corporation that enjoys many tax benefits from the state of Florida. They shouldn't of got involved with politics and stayed with entertaining children .

I thought you guys were for personal freeedoms? Why would you support someone who is banning books, trampling business rights at disney world and changing school curriculum with no outside input.

He also doesn't allow guns at his events and the denies it.

What happens when he comes for your personal freedoms like your guns?

Why do you love authoritarians who tell you what to think and do?

Hmm..........

But conservatives are not the only censors. Governor of California Gavin Newsom inadvertently if rather hilariously made this point when he posted a picture of himself "reading some banned books to figure out" what Republican states "are so afraid of." Apparently no one told him that the stack of books in the photo included one banned in the state he leads, To Kill a Mockingbird, which was banned from California schools on the grounds that it contained racism.

Today, the Left wages its own crusade against authors, publishers, and teachers. Moms for Liberty has a Left-wing mirror image in We Need Diverse Books and Disrupt Texts, groups at the forefront of movements trying to cancel, rewrite, and otherwise censor picture books, young adult novels, and American classics taught in K-12 schools.

You sound insane.

From you... :lmao:

Anyway, these people wear me RTF out. It's pretty clear the media is desperately trying to manufacture a big fight between Trump and DeSantis and I'm not having it. "DeSantis SHREDS! Trump!" - then you hear what he actually said and it's not even particularly negative. "Trump MELTS DOWN over DeSantis attack!" - and it's not all that.

I'm sick of the "news" media and their clickbait bullshit. When you can easily read or hear what was actually said, it pisses me off when the media blatantly misrepresents it. And it pisses me off even more when ignorant droolers believe the bullshit clickbait "headlines".

Good grief.

You are such a perfect representative of the average Democrat voter. You're ignorant. You lie. You revise history. THEN you insist everyone else is wrong or lying when you get corrected.

You obviously know nothing about what's going on with DeSantis in FL and yet you trot your skanky ass out and make a bunch of retarded proclamations anyway. Every single thing you said in that post is either a lie or a misrepresentation. PERFECT Democrat voter.
