Has confinement issues..
My darling 6 year old, who is the apple of my eye and the cutest thing in the whole world, is a lazy, whiney momma's boy and I can't take it any longer!!

So, since he complains soooo much that he's tired and he hates school, and I fight him about everything from picking up to helping out to getting dressed in a timely manner...


This morning I let him stay home, again, but every time he leaves his bed, I say get dressed.


I hope this works. I've tried cajoling, bribery, and threats.....Let's see how much he hates school and schleps around after sitting on the top bunk alone with out toys for 6 hours....

Ouch... bad move. You should have sent him to school in his PJs.

BB, you should've been doing that from the start if not actually moving his butt to the bus stop and literally putting him on the bus. Yeah he's a cutie pie and a charmer but don't be such a pushover, geesh! :rolleyes:

The apple of your eye has now become a thorn in your side...and you let it happen! :lol:

I saw that happen once and was mortified....

A kid was throwing a fit and they dragged him on to the bus in his Pj's, Threw his shoes and backpack in to the car and told the bus driver to be careful not to let him slip out and rum home.

:yikes:

My son is no where near that bad, but he used to be so good and congenial. I am constantly arguing with him lately:frown:

He's eating toast now, then I'll send him back to bed. I've never done that before so maybe it will light a fire under his butt.

If that doesn't work, I'll try the Pj's to school:lol:

Wake up and smell the testosterone, momma. Your fun is just beginning. You need to lay out the boundaries, define the consequences and STAY THE COURSE.

I know, I know!! He's so charming, and he's my baby! I let him get away with the whole, "Mommy, I love you, can't I just stay with you all day, pweaasse!!"

But that was pre-k and I've been fighting the urge to keep him with me for a year now.. He's no longer a baby, I know this..:frown:

Oh crap, I'm welling up over here.:bawl:

Trust me, he doesn't:rolleyes:

He tries to say he has no friends, but his teacher says he's Mr.Popular. He says he hates school, but has wonderful behavior and he's on or above grade level.

He just hates to be rushed, likes to do things in his own time and wants to stay home with me all day!

Why not let him stay home and you can home school him? What's he in, first grade? You can teach him that stuff.

Hmmm... Barrack Obama's mama used to wake him at 4 a.m. to begin his lessons each day and when he complained she would tell him, "Lookie here, mister... this isn't a walk in the park for me either." and look at him today...:smile:

Sounds like to me he could use a good olde fashion :spank:. That is one of the biggest problem with kids these days, they have NO fear.

Can't be worse than mine :whistle:

Next time make it look like you have an important meeting to go to, tell him he can't stay home b/c you're not going to be home. Does he have an alarm clock? I was thinking about getting my cub one.
