I will gladly trade you one 10 and a half year old that hides in the bathroom with the new Victoria's catalog for Bebop....I'll get yours to go to school(and like it) and you get the catalog away from zman....when should I expect you?

Wait!!!!....I don't want that catalog....I really don't know(or care to know) what he is doing in there with it :twitch:

Right before bedtime I would have my kids pick out what they wanted to wear the next day, what they wanted to have for lunch and repack their bookbags if needed. Some days my oldest daughter wanted to wear pink polka dots and green stripes (as an example) and I let her. At least she was clean and dressed!

I would have call CPS on you, what a horrible mother.

My daughter does the same thing. I try to "fix" it, but she loves her outfits. I just warned the teachers and other parents at the beginning of the year.

I hope I have a little girl :huggy:
All those cute dresses, princess tiara, fancy shoes.

She wore a dress like this on Palm Sunday a couple years ago. I didn't realize the kids were going to be waving palms around the sanctuary that morning. Normally she stays in the preschool room. :ohwell:

You just managed to piss me off. I'm not a democrat and I don't see what that has to do with anything. That's offensive, because you just said that my son is going to grow up to be a half-wit follower who can't think for himself.

You read in to my posts, missing the point that my son was making excuses and trying to remain the baby I made him in to. Seeing the error of my ways, I posted this thread to see if anyone had some options for me other than threats, lies and heavy handed discipline. Too make him see that he can't do that and correct the behavior is much more effective than demanding he do as I say simply because I said so.

The TV was placed there last year because I am fed up with watching cartoons. He only really watches it about an hour or so a day. No TV in the morning, none at bed time.
Going to bed at 10 pm allows him the time to get everything he has to do done and still sleep 8-10 hours a night. I have worked weird hours and swing shifts for their entire lives. Going to bed at 10 pm is a much better alternative than going to bed at 8 at a sitter, getting up at 2 am to drive home then getting up earlier than necessary to eat, bathe, do homework and get dressed for school.

I've been told I'm a very strict parent and won't think twice about a good ol' fashioned whoopin', if I feel its necessary. I'm pretty old school when it comes to manners, discipline and NOT giving my kids 1000's of dollars in toys and crap.

Have a nice day, turd cutter.:coffee:

My apologies for pissing you off. Im glad you had the awakening you had to make things right in your household. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

PS: Remember what Confucius say "Better to be pissed off than pissed on." :)

That's easy. Introduce him to Playboy or Penthouse.
