Two Mommy's --

Actually, I find it quite sad that children say "Little Suzi Q has 2 Mommies". Suzi Q's Daddy and Mommy should have thought about that before they had Little Suzi Q. If the 2 Mommie's are lesbians, I don't want to get started on my soapbox!!!

I just reallly think that people like you should just refrain from posting on issues like this one.... ""Suzi Q's Daddy and Mommy should have thought about that before they had Little Suzi Q."" You just need to SHUT UP. MANY of us married with the intentions of it being until death do us part, while then years later, crap seems to happen and it all falls apart. One CANNOT make another keep a vow. So what do you think happens... a divorce. It is very obvious that your name suits you just perfect and for your attitude you most certainly will be alone forever. There is no perfect world and unfortunately, my children are subject of statistics now. i have lived through and survived a divorce. If and when my child tells me or someone else she now has two mommies... i will most certainly feel blessed that there are two women in her life that are giving her the love and attention that she so much deserves. If something ever happens to me, yeah that she has another mommy to be there to support and nurture her when she'll need it most. crap on you. i was having a wonderful day - i have to learn to skip over any and everything YOU post! GET A LIFE QUEENOFDENIAL !!!!

Yeah, okay.
If it bothers you that much I'd find out exactly what the situation is and not make assumptions.

The situation doesn't bother me and it's also not my place to ask the daycare what the situation is. I was just asking what other people might have told their kids if they were asked about same sex parents in families. I didn't say this particular situation was a same sex thing, I just said "what if.." I left it at some kids have 2 mommy's, some have 2 daddy's and some have a mommy and a daddy. But the fact that she mentioned it twice makes me know she understands that something is different. I don't want her to think the child is different and just because she only has 1 mommy and this other child has 2 mommy's doesn't mean that they are "different" per se, it just means that is what makes up their family.

3 year olds really are not that smart. You're giving her too much credit. Or you are looking way to far into it.

Maybe if you spent more time with your kids, you'd see that 3 years olds are probably smarter than you think they are. Not only do I need to explain to my daughter why some kids have 2 mommy's, but I have to explain why some kids only have 1 mother and why their daddy isn't in the picture. When she asks that question, I'll PM you for some suggestions. I'd love to hear the answer you give your kids when they ask why they don't have a daddy. :howdy:

I have to agree with you. My parents split up and both are remarried..so that means I have two mommies and two daddies. And my step-daugther will tell you she had two mommies..her mom and me.

UR Right

A child should have 2 parents to love them.

A child should have 2 parents to "love" them. It just so happens that "parents" means a mother and a father. That is until you did not like the def. and deceided you need to change it to fit "alternate lifestyles". I guess 8 mommies might be better yet....think of all the love. :sarcasm:

I’m glad you used quotations for the word “parents” - again to me that is just word and is a term just like "mother" and "father" - they are all just words - does it matter who plays the roles as long as a child is loved and cared for?

Parent:

1. a father or a mother.
2. an ancestor, precursor, or progenitor.
3. a source, origin, or cause.
4. a protector or guardian.

sorry gaycritic, just because someone is gay doesn't mean they can't be a mother of a father.

I'd say 'nice try', but it wasn't.

Says who? Who made you judge and jury?

Non-traditional families can be just as functional, if not more functional, than traditional families.

I do believe she was referring to Loving mother and loving father as a Functional traditional unit. Question for all of you single muthers out there that think the whole world is out to get you Just because you cannot have a functional family unit.Is a functional hetro family unit not a good thing for children?

I’m not a single mother but I think that any family unit that can raise a child with love to become an adult that positively contributes to our society is a great family period.

Of course it is. I did not say that. But, that does not mean that a "nontraditional" family unit is not good for a child either.

DUH ...Let's forget the divorced/remarried/widowed/single mom excuses that were thrown around. I have divorced parents that re-married. So in some silly sense...yes I had two mommies and two daddies. That IS NOT what this issue is about. This was about gay marriage or relationships where a child is being raised. Plain and simple. This is about activist courts silencing the peoples voices (CA). This is about the radical left taking what was once deviancy just some 20 years ago and trying to convice us this is just another healthy lifestyle choice to be celebrated. :smack:

50 years ago I bet your ranting would have gone "little Jimmy's got a white mothe and a negro father". Either argument makes as little sence, both were at one time considered deviancy.

Dude....that silly argument/comparison has been addressed in other posts.

It's about behavior not skin color.
