Actor Rob Reiner’s documentary warning about Christian nationalism, "God and Country," did poorly at the box office, but it is being called one of the year’s best examples of "religiophobia" on the silver screen.

The description for the documentary states that the film "looks at the implications of Christian Nationalism and how it distorts not only our constitutional republic, but Christianity itself." The summary also noted that the film features "prominent Christian thought leaders" and "asks this question: What happens when a faith built on love, sacrifice, and forgiveness grows political tentacles, conflating power, money, and belief into hyper-nationalism?"

Catholic League President Bill Donohue, leader of the nation’s largest Catholic civil rights organization, wrote a withering critique of the film in March.

"Rob Reiner, more commonly known as ‘Meathead,’ released a movie last month that demonstrates the pervasiveness of religiophobia in Hollywood," Donohue wrote. "’God and Country’ is about an alleged threat to American democracy posed by so-called Christian nationalists. The Meathead would have the audience believe that we are on the verge of a theocratic takeover, though few outside of Hollywood and other secular subcultures pay any attention to this fable."

Moment Miami cops arrest pop singer Sessi for driving with FAKE diplomatic plates - but tells officers she's an 'ambassador at large' with 'immunity rights'

A New York singer who claimed to be an 'ambassador at large' with 'immunity rights' was arrested for allegedly driving a car with fake diplomatic license plates.

Cecilia Selina Mercado, a 32-year-old singer born in Bronx who performs under the moniker 'Sessi', was taken into custody by Sunny Isles Beach police on Tuesday evening after being seen behind the wheel of an Audi Q5 with fake diplomatic tags.

According to her arrest report, Mercado told officials that she is a 'diplomat' and an 'ambassador at large' with immunity rights - a claim she continues to maintain.

Video footage from the moment of her arrest shows Mercado behind the wheel of the car, telling officers that the car was registered with the 'Department of State'.

An officer is seen holding her arm and asking her to step out as her passenger, later identified as Scott Huss, makes the bizarre claim that she is not a US citizen - despite her being born in the Bronx - and yells that police 'don't have jurisdiction' over her.

Singer Sessi allegedly driving with phony diplomatic plates pulled out of vehicle by Florida cops in wild video

Video of the initial encounter, recorded by Mercado’s passenger, showed an officer holding her arm and asking her to step out of the car.

“Please bring your supervisor now, you’re reaching inside our vehicle, I feel threatened!” the passenger, identified by the outlet as Scott Huss, yells in the video.

“You’re reaching inside our vehicle, I feel threatened, I feel threatened, I feel threatened!” Huss yelled. “Get off of her right now, get off of her right now”

“They have no jurisdiction over you,” Huss added. “She is not a United States citizen, they have no jurisdiction.”

The heated exchange continues between the singer and cops, to which the Huss tells them they are “going to get fired from your job, and she is going to get $250,000.”

Police say after checking her plates, they came back as fake.

Wasn't there a time that you should report the sighting of diplomatic plates because there were geographical restrictions on them? Or was that something only government e.ployees to do?

I never heard that, but I am used to seeing Diplomatic Plates all over DC, unless there has been a recent change, that ain't one

I'm wondering if this was flagged by a plate scanner, there are so many vanity tags these days, the average traffic cop is not going to be able to keep up

Yep, they were not allowed farther than x miles away from DC, and since Pax was outside that limit and of course a big target for intel, we were supposed to report seeing them. This was during my last active duty time in the early 90s.

IIRC The Soviets had a ' vacation ' home across from Pax - is this true or Cold War Legend

No idea. Seems like they would be stupid not to. I mean its not illegal to take pictures or videos of the bay. Of course, nothing classified flies in the open, but a great part of intelligence is connecting dots between various publicly available items to see a larger classified picture.

Obama did something, thought it was in the Chestertown area.
Pretty sure it was at Pioneer Point Farm in Centreville just a little south of Chestertown. Think its been drawing dust for about 8 years.

Expelled Vanderbilt Student Thought He’d Escaped the Rampant Bigotry of the Deep South

As Twitchy reported, students at Vanderbilt University in Nashville occupied the chancellor's office to protest the cancellation of a pro-Palestine referendum from being voted on by students. They peed in water bottles because they weren't allowed to use the restrooms. One of the Hamas sympathizers called 911 because a young woman was “being denied the right to change her tampon.” The student tried to shame a police officer: "You are black in America, and you're NOT standing with the marginalized people of the world. What does that make you?" they asked.

WSMV reports that there were three expulsions and one suspension when the protest turned violent. "Three students were charged with Class A misdemeanor assault after pushing the officer and a staff member as they entered the building. The fourth student was charged with vandalism after allegedly breaking a window on the outside of the building."

One of those expelled is 19-year-old activist Jack Petocz, who posted in a lengthy thread just what went down.

64-Year-Old New Jersey Man Who Operates Trump RV Beaten with Sledgehammer, Airlifted to Hospital with “Significant Head Injuries”

On Friday Rocky Granata was beaten with a sledgehammer and left with “significant injuries to his head.”

The suspect, Michael Gonzales, 36, was charged with attempted murder.

The Asbury Park Press reported:

A 64-year-old man from Edison was hospitalized after he was struck with a sledgehammer during an attack at Crown Tire on Route 36 in the Port Monmouth section on Friday, according to police.
Michael Gonzales, 36, of Philadelphia, was charged with attempted murder. He was detained by witnesses at the scene and taken into police custody upon their arrival, said Middletown Deputy Police Chief Paul J. Bailey.
The victim suffered “significant injuries to his head” and was taken by helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Bailey said.
An investigation has determined that Gonzales struck the victim in the head multiple times with a hand-held sledgehammer, Bailey said.

Vandy Student Arrested After Pro-Hamas Sit-In Has Ties to the White House, Muslim Brotherhood-Linked Org

Petocz says he is not one of the people in the video shoving the guard and that he was nowhere near them.

The 19-year-old is no stranger to campus discipline, though, and has a long history as a semi-professional agitator. His evolution and its timeline are interesting and instructive when looking at the various astroturf protests around the country.

It started in 2020 when young Jack was irritated by a local school board member who was, in his opinion, "recklessly tweeting COVID misinformation" right after his family had been infected with the virus. He was so irritated that he started the Recall Flagler County School Board movement, but quickly turned his focus toward advancing radical agendas.

By the fall of 2021, Petocz was holding rallies protesting "two local school board members’ attempt to ban books from school libraries" and routinely speaking at school board meetings, deliberately bringing national politics into the mix. That activism led to his inclusion in a January 2022 New York Times article about "the new tactics that conservative or reactionary groups are using to pressure school boards, including through social media, the politicalization of the challenges, the almost exclusive focus on books relating to LGBTQ or anti-racist themes, and the involvement of new pressure groups such as Florida’s 'Moms for Liberty.'"

[clip]

Petocz, of course, has kept up his activism in Nashville. According to his Twitter/X screed, Petocz has some involvement with Vanderbilt's Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and Jewish Voices for Peace (JVP) chapters:

For months, administration has suppressed student voices fighting for Palestine.
This includes hyper-surveillance, discrimination towards our SJP and JVP chapters, and cancelling a student-led referendum to divest Vanderbilt Student Government funds from mass slaughter.

It's interesting that this openly gay man is "fighting for Palestine." Jack is either unaware of Hamas' stance on homosexuality, or perhaps he thinks that Hamas will treat him differently than they treat Palestinian gay men, which is quite a white-privileged thought to have.

SJP has been identified as a subsidiary of the Muslim Brotherhood and is being investigated in both Florida and Virginia for ties to terrorism. It was founded at Berkeley in 2001 by Professor Hatem Bazian, who "quickly grasped that open identification with the Brotherhood prevented large-scale recruitment" so he "establish[ed] SJP as an ostensibly progressive organization, whose agenda, uncoincidentally, was nearly identical to that of the Brotherhood." Bazian is now the chair of American Muslims for Palestine, another Muslim Brotherhood organization, "which provides financial backing for SJP chapters and shares personnel and donors with several Hamas fronts."

Are students like Petocz just useful idiots, or are they complicit in the attacks perpetrated by Hamas? It's time to rid our college campuses of all of these terrorist fronts, and the students who support them.

Pro-Hamas Student Gets Expelled, and You'll Need a Cigarette After Reading His Thread on It

The water has gotten a bit choppier for pro-Hamas supporters on college campuses. On Friday, the President of Pomona College in California threw down the gauntlet, having an entire mob of "protesters" arrested for trespassing in an administrative building. She then summarily suspended them all and banned the non-students from campus. It was an incredible turn of events to finally see some consequences being doled out.

Believe it or not, though, that may not be the most satisfying example of Hamas supporters getting what they deserve over the last few days. Meet Jack Petocz, who is now no longer a student at Vanderbilt University after being expelled for a "protest" that occurred in late March. He has put out a thread on the matter, and you're going to need a cigarette after reading this one. I mean that rhetorically, of course. Smoking is bad for you.

The overblown sense of self-importance that these activists have is unintentionally hilarious. How is shouting at people on an American college campus "fighting for Palestine?" These people aren't accomplishing anything. They aren't helping anyone. They are seeking attention because they lack any real purpose in their lives. Petocz is a text-book case given he once proudly announced online that he was quitting his job at Publix because the grocery store chain wouldn't denounce Ron DeSantis.

So what did he get expelled for? According to Petocz, he was just staging a peaceful "sit-in." The truth is a bit more complicated.

I'm sorry, but I can't help but laugh out loud at the level of entitlement being displayed by this absolute beta. He illegally trespasses to stage a "sit-in," and then he expects the school to feed him, give him water, give him access to a restroom, and provide him with medical care. I mean, come on. Is he serious? The scary part is that he is. This is the modern left, and its adherents have no concept of the real world. It's all liberal arts classes and self-aggrandizement for these people while expecting to pay zero consequences for their actions.

Naturally, the real story is not the one Petocz is telling. Of the four people who were arrested, one being Petocz, three of them were charged with assault for pushing police officers and staff members. A fourth was charged with vandalism for breaking a window in an attempt to enter the building.
