Unrestrained Kids

Okay, so you are not a Mom, yet it's a cheap shot to actually point that out to you?

Whatever.

Check the date on the post you referenced.

Anyway, I'm not interested in having a pissing contest with you Mommies. My kids are adults, so they are out of your jurisdiction and you can't do a damn thing about how I raised them. HA.

I have been on here enough years to see your pattern. You like to play the devil's advocate. You see the common sense opinion and take the opposite. You call people names, and when they make good points you can't defend you pack up your toys and go home.

You must be good at it, because I continue to read it :lmao:

Well that crazy woman can yell all she wants, I doubt with all the chuckleheads about she will run out of things to be outraged about. I'm talking about a reasonable standard of care here. Allowing your kids to be projectiles in the event of an accident is not exercising proper care.

What I am saying is that many parents don't feel it's irresponsible to not buckle their kids up. I know my Mom didn't, and neither did any of my aunts or my grandmother.

So "reasonable" is completely subjective. You may have a dog that MOTW don't think you should have around your children because it's dangerous. They may think that letting them sleep in a separate room from you is dangerous. It could be anything.

And are you prepared to allow people who don't even know you dictate what you may and may not do with your own child, even if you personally do not see anything wrong with it?

Nanny government is a slippery slope.

So now that we've established that:

  1. Not putting a child in a booster seat is the same thing, and just as irresponsible, as beating them and allowing a toddler to operate a motor vehicle
  2. Geek knows everything and we should all ask her permission for all acts concerning child raising
  3. Cowgirl is the mother of some other peoples' children

I will leave you all to it. Especially since Geek has now devolved to making stupid statements that have no basis in fact, just because she feels threatened and wants to lash out.

Wow, you've got to be stupid if you think that's why I posted your quote. You're really grasping, especially since I typed "stepmother/stepmommy" several times.

There is no shame in admitting you like debating. Somd.com provides you with a venue to enjoy this hobby. :buddies:

We all know common sense is putting kids in car seats or seat belts. It is akin to feeding them or giving them clothes. Basic human instincts. Feed, shelter and protect the young.

You like to rile up people to get a firey debate. You do it well.

"Lash out"? That is awesome. Show me how I have lashed out? Have I called you a name?

Nobody buckled up when we were babies. Times and views have changed and laws have been implemented to reflect those changes. When dogs cause the kind of carnage we see on the roads they might be addressed too although it's highly unlikely.

Agreed, it is slippery. But requiring car seats is a small bit of tyranny in the grand scheme of things and has saved thousands of our smallest and most helpless members of society. I'd like to see vaccinations become mandatory too, though I think it will take a lot of childhood suffering and death before that happens.

Oh, and one more thing. I find it hilarious that Vrai thinks you have to have a baby come out of your vajayjay in order to be able to have an opinion about carseats. :roflmao: Like I need to expel an infant from my body in order to have common sense. :lmao:

I don't care if other people's children are in car seats or buckled in. My children are. If someone else's child is riding with me in my car their butt will be buckled in.

The world is overpopulated as is. Someone mentioned Darwinism. You figure if the parents don't care enough, or are wussies, then those precious children share the same genes. Good riddance.

Have a great evening. :howdy:

That is an ignorant question. If you want to equate not using a booster seat with beating and abusing a kid, not to mention killing them and sticking their remains in your freezer, be my guest.

Sorry Vrai but you are being a dumbass. Not putting your kid in a booster seat is abuse. They make device to help save a child's life should some other dumbass run into you. Why would you not put your kid in a booster seat? It's not bubble wrap trying to shelter them from society. It's trying to protect them from harm.

Calm down. :huggy:

She is saying she doesn't care what other people do with their children as far as carseats go. She and I both grew up when there was no such thing. This doesn't mean we won't restrain our own.
