I say keep the dog...you can have a big dog with a small yard, make her a house dog, and you and your daughter take her for walks 3 times a week... get her a running leash that you string up to put her on when your daughter and you are outside, so daughter and her can play, and you dont have to worry about her running out in the road, or off in a neighbors yard...

If you need help buying dog food or something, let me know, Ill buy the first bag for her :yay:

And Im sure there are places that will help you out with pet foods, meds, and all that kind of stuff due to how you've recieved this dog....

And you never know, it could be a good blessing for you/your daughter to come across a fun loving doggie :yay:

Speaking of which, I still haven't heard back from them. Will have to send a f/u email today.

Yeah, that will work.

They are a very busy organization and help many dogs. Why don't you call them and leave a message.

SKB, you really know how to make a sale you cad!!!:huggy:

Poor thing was out in the rain last night. I was sleeping and she had to go sleep under my deck. My daughter was already up this morning, dressed and sitting outside with her.
I'm nearly hooked.
I still think my yard is too small for a breed her size.
For breakfast I made her a plate of warm ham and pork chops with a little rice and cheese. Looks like I'll be bringing home dog food after work.

Poor dogs head looks too big for her body.

Why dont you let the dog in your house if its storming out and let be with you all instead of being scared and all alone? I am a firm believer that dogs should be housepets and not kept in the yard 24/7 as I think its cruel especially on hot days and really cold days. I can undestand putting her out for a little during the day. I bet it wont take long to house train her and if you are worried about her going everywhere then block off the rooms you dont want her in with a doggy gate that works too.

Well, The Well Pet Clinic called and said to bring her right down.

THANKS Jamie! :huggy:
She said she knew your babies and would be glad to help me out!

I'm going to work late so I can take her over and see what's up.

If you are also worried about her getting into stuff while you sleep you could crate train her too that way she can be in the house at night and you can use it during the day when you are away at work or out doing errands.

well thast is great news...lets hope they can take her in and find her a good home. Juat alittle heads up they dont have foster homes I dont think. I think the dogs stay at the clinic in little cages til they have pet adoption days and people can come in and look at them and see if they want to adopt.

I was already in bed last night when it rained...And when I'm alseep you could test missiles on my backside before I'll wake up. She also has fleas and since she's a strange animal, don't know where she's been.

She was fine under the deck, at least she wasn't being kicked.

I think I do want to keep her, but I'll talk to the lady at the clinic about options first. If they can't place I'll keep her.

Some peoples kids

I already have 3 dogs and a cat so i can't have another you could try the southern maryland animal welfare league (SMAWL) I wonder why people get animals and then throw them away like garbage all of mine are rescues... I've been house sitting one of them for 10 years :lmao:

Well Pet does have foster homes. They also have bottle mommas, etc. for orphans who need feeding around the clock. Very well organized organization, friendly people and easy to work with.

I am a toal sucker for a furry face.
She didn't want to go in to the clinic and as I was signing the paper work, I burst in to tears looking at the little paper tag my daughter had attached to her collar that said , "Raven's dog SAMMY" with our hone number and rushed her back to my car.

SHE"S MINE!!!!!

Is this a good thing? I cried all the way home thinking of how my little girl had fallen in love with her overnight. I couldn't do it.

:huggy: You've done a great thing! You've rescued the dog from a POS, and you've given your daughter a new friend to love and care for!
