If you change your mind, let me know. :yay:
If she does, from the sounds of it you'll have to work out a visitation agreement with her daughter. Sounds like the lil one has fell head over heels in love with the cute lil furball :lmao:

I am a toal sucker for a furry face.
She didn't want to go in to the clinic and as I was signing the paper work, I burst in to tears looking at the little paper tag my daughter had attached to her collar that said , "Raven's dog SAMMY" with our hone number and rushed her back to my car.

SHE"S MINE!!!!!

Is this a good thing? I cried all the way home thinking of how my little girl had fallen in love with her overnight. I couldn't do it.

:bawl:

 That is great news! I don't think you've made a mistake. Shepherd's are one of the best breeds for families. They're very loyal and protective. Not to mention sweet!

Now you can give her a loving home. :huggy:

I agree.. somdmommy and I have an elkhound, basically a broader, fluffier shepherd, same temperment.. very trainable dogs, and easy to housebreak. Wonderful with children. Just walk them regularly enough to wear them out, and they won't even chew on your house

Puppy Update!

A couple of toys, some Puppy Chow, a flea treatment, new bowls, a black collar and leash with reflective paw prints, and some shampoo. :faint:

I haven't had a dog in so long that I don't have a clue what to get her? That damn Iams food is some pricey crap!! I went for what I knew.

I took a blanket to designate her a specific spot to sleep in the living room. I'm not crating her unless I have to, if she trains well enough, I won't need to.

She ate my swing!!

She's chewing EVERYTHING!!!!!!

I think she's deaf, she listens like my kids.

SHE HATES WATER:jameo:

She brought me a "gift" ..... A mouse in a trap that I had set a few days ago and forgotten about :barf:

She loves a tummy rub.

She's a bit lazy for a 5-6 month old IMO She takes alot of naps ( man I wish I could get my kids to do that)

My training skills are RUSTY.

She had the cutest butt:lmao:

She has a craving for barbie dolls... Particularly pink and purple fairy ones.

My kids are having a ball!!!!

THIS IS FUN! :yahoo:

I bet that would have a great deal to do with her being malnourished.

It sounds like she is fitting right in.

She's sleeping on my foot right now. I had forgotten how sweet and endearing an animal can be.

She eats good and really wants people food. :nono: She stole a cookie from the trash can, the little booger

Sorry :ohwell:...I never got a message. THAT means you talked to one of my teenagers. I've just been busy...and basically felt like crap for 3 or 4 days. I didn't even feel like logging on to forums. :yikes:

We'll have to get Sammy and Hardly together to run and play.

Well I am glad you decided to keep her :). Sounds like shes got it made with your family. Try to deter her from human food though as it does mess up there stomachs and you might end up with a big mess (the runs) everywhere and anywhere she can find a spot to go inside.

As to training patience is the key. I would also recommend seeing if Petco does dog obedience sessions ( I dont know if they do or don't but I do know petsmart does).

Have you taken Sammy to the vet yet? She really needs a check up and whatever shots she may need.

I second the no people food rule. My Dad was giving his new dog people food and he kept throwing up. The vet said the people food was why. He now strictly eats Iams can and dry food and no more stomach problems.

I also second the training. Petsmart did a wonderful job with my dads dog. You just have to be firm and let them know you are the boss.

It sounds like she's made herself right at home. :yay: Good luck!

Oh, so you have a little Ms. Manners

Here is mine. She will snatch anything that you leave out. Last night, I was playing with her and she smelled like cinnamon. She got into the cinnamon rolls. That little red toy next to her, she stole that out of the kid's toy box.

She now understands "down' and "no fairly well and slept the whole night with out tearing anything up. She needs a trick to learn. What should I do with her? I taught my last dog sit food on her nose and catch it. I gotta buy a frisbee.

Of course, my last dog was friggin amazing.:bawl:

I'll find out tomorrow from my mom's friend where I'll be taking her to get the medical stuff done. She has a farm and knows more about it than I do.
