For VDay dinner,
Homemade marinated smoked salmon with toasted baguettes for the appetizer
Shrimp Scampi
Grilled Delmonico steaks, hand rubbed with my cowgirl beef rub
Crab & Fontina baked stuffed baby portabella's
Baked Dilled Cucumber with yogurt sauce
Homemade Butter sweet yeast rolls
Dessert will be a Raspberry Mousse Cake with whipped cream frosting drizzled with dark chocolate
Home made sugar Plum wine

Do you deliver?

Does anyone here actually own a fondue pot
What's your thoughts

I do, I own two actually. I use one for chocolate and the other for oil or broth when I cook meats. I'm a fan for sure, just make sure you add the chocolate already melted (and don't burn it, soo easy to burn chocolate) because it takes forever to melt in the actual fondue pot.

I don't have one anymore, but I've done the chocolate dip w/fruit. Yum! The other thing we used to do was a swiss/provolone melt. You dip french bread chunks in Kirsch (potent alcohol drink) then into the cheese. That's really tasty, and yes, you can easily get bombed!

Ok I have never done this so forgive me

But what is this oil people talk about ? what kind of oil and what do you dip in it?

It's okay, you can use peanut or vegetable oil...probably just about any cooking oil, and you'd just dip your chicken chunks or whatever it in for a few minutes until they're cooked. You could also flavor a broth/wine mix and use that instead of oil which is really good too. I'm sure they're lots of recipes online or even included with the fondue pot directions.

It's a vegetable that I've been experimenting with. I remove the skin from the cukes, slice in half length wise and scoop out the seeds and soft tissue. Then I slice them, sometimes in sticks, sometimes across, whatevery and soak them in cider vinegar and salt for about 30 minutes. Drain, add butter and dill. Bake till soft and top with my homemade yoguart sauce. I usually make it when I have lots in the garden. I also bake/cook lettuce and other vegetables that most people usually eat raw. I just like doing different things and am not afraid to try anything my imagination can come up with. Try it sometime, you can also top the baked cukes with a dollap of sour cream. Thanks for asking...........

Does the fondue pots actually get hot enough to cook the meat?

Looking on web now for recipes.
Thanks

It's not a lot of food when you do portion control, it's just a lot of variety. I trim the delmonico's of fat and cut in half so it's about a 4 oz. serving

Sure does, you're gonna love this thing once you get it. It's a lot of fun on top of being really good. You can cook chicken, beef, shrimp, ravioli (yup, had that at The Melting Pot) and probably lots of other stuff in the oil. You don't have to but I'd season or marinade the meats before cooking them. Try putting the veggies in the broth/wine, if you do that one...guess you could fry 'em in oil though too, haven't tried that though.

Then of course there's endless desserts

You can do desserts , I don't even have one yet and I think I am in love already.

Will an fondue pot due or do I have to get an expensive one?

A fondue pot would work, just read the box when you buy it. Of course you can do desserts...melt chocolate (milk or maybe even white, mmm) and dip cookies, cubed cake, lady fingers, fruit, graham crackers...anything.

Damn it, now I wanna get out the fondue :lmao:
