I never understood the Formula behind the counter thing. I would assume that the same ppl that would steal it could get it for free via WIC or Food Stamps.

It is still "over the counter". That just means that you do not need a prescription to buy it.

Yeah, you don't need a prescription to purchase. I think that you can only buy one box at a time, though.

I think they limit you to only be able to purchase all cold medicines to now only 3 boxes max. at a time. During allergy season when both hubby and I are popping pills I try to stock up.

When I was in California in November, when dad was dying, they already made you get it from behind the counter. Sis got allergies or a cold or sinuses and had to pick up some card and then take it to the pharmacist to get him to give her some. Meanwhile, we had Fedex delivering morphine, vicodan, dialuid (don't know how that is spelled), Oxycotin and Ativan to mom's house and we didn't even have to sign for it. Hospice had arranged it and we went to the curb, picked it up, and took it in the house. Then, when he died, they didn't ask for the meds back. I thought Hospice would take them, but no. We flushed them.

I just noticed something this morning...

I picked up test strips this same night (4/18/06). I was just looking at one of the vials and noticed that the use by date is 2/28/06. :yikes:
Needless to say, I'm pissed and I will me making a trip to Wal*Fart tonight. :tantrum:

All this talk of pharmicies and no mention of Eckards??? I have been using Eckards (the one by Bon Buffet) for the past 2 years and have only had 1 problem. I think the person that was filling my perscription didn't realize it had to be refridgerated and told me they were out without looking in the cooler.

Other than the one time, my perscriptions have always been filled within 30 mins and have always been correct.

Sucks!

OK, so here's the timeline of last night's events.

6:15~Drop 3 Rx's off. Explain to girl that I'm supposed to be on bedrest, but I need my diabetes supplies (syringes and insulin) ASAP. Girl says no problem, they'll be ready in 30 minutes. :yay:

6:55ish~Go back to the counter pickup. Not ready yet. Not even entered in the computer yet. :frown: Sit back down.

7:15~ Go back to the counter to find out WTF is going on. Pharmacist told me to wait just one minute and they'll be ready.

7:45~ Once again, go back to the counter to find out WTF is going on. This time I said nevermind, just give me my damn Rx's back and I'll go elsewhere. Pharmacist says that it is almost ready and to sit down.

8:00~Pharmacist calls my name. Go back to the counter thinking that Rx's are ready. Wrong. Pharmacist hands me a bag with a box of syringes. Dumbfounded, I ask WTF is this. It took them almost 2 hours to drop a box into a bag. Pharmacist asked what I meant. I explained that I had 3 Rx's. 2 for insulin and 1 for syringes. What the hell was I supposed to do with a box of syringes when I have yet to receive my insulin? Pharmacist looked blank. Then, insisted for me to wait around for 5 more minutes so that he can fill that Rx.

8:10~Pharmacist calls my name again. Mam, your insulin is ready. WRONG AGAIN! He hands me a box with 1 vial of insulin. Dumbfounded, I ask where the other vial is. He has to check.

8:15~My son is half falling asleep hugging his balloon, so I walk back up to the counter. Pharmacist says to wait just a minute. Tech is getting it out of the fridge now.

8:22~Once again, I walk up to the counter. This time I speak to the other Pharmacist. I ask WTF is going on. He looks at the computer and tells me that they are out of my other insulin. Come back tomorrow evening. Not a chance. Never again.

Over 2 damn hours. :tantrum:

Anyone else in here have issues with them?

I agree that it sux!

I called in my stuff 2 days before I went to pick it up, got there and OH NO sorry its not done....WHAT :jameo:
