We've considered the base chapel but they hold muslim services there and have Islamic scripts, along with those of many other religions and I would prefer to not have that.

That would be because there is only one church on the base but people of many faiths.
Why would someone else's faith be included in your ceremony? I have been to weddings at the base chapel and there were no Islamic scripts in the ceremonies...

She makes enough to buy new ones if she wants to.
 Just for that, I'll bring you an 11-week old brindle pit puppy in about 3 weeks as a token of my love and appreciation! :smoochy:

Oh, my pastor will, but my church meets at the higher education center (don't want a ceremony there) and well, since I"m not catholic I can't get married in one of those, don't think I'd want to.

You'd also want to be careful, because before the naval base was established, the chapel used to be the church of St. Nicholas Catholic parish. Wouldn't want to get too close to anything Catholic!

You know.... she may be better off just staking claim to a rock next to a hill or mountain, months ahead of the blessed event and post yellow crime scene tape... That way, no icky bugs of any other faith of any kind can possibly contaminate their special spot!!! Then, the wedding party can hike up to the site, weather permitting and the couple can exchange their blessed vows with only their own special brand of peculiarity

What area are you looking for? NoVA, DC, somd (if so what county?). There are tons of places to get married outdoors, but if you want a set in stone backup plan for bad weather, it narrows down your options...you'll either have to pick a place with optional indoor space, or pay to reserve space that you may not use.

I'm looking for something in St. Mary's County... I will only have about 100 guests so it doesn't need to be huge.

Basically I'm trying to see if there are places I haven't thought of yet... trying to think outside the box, but still want it to be somewhat elegant.
