My son has a gorgeous ring he had custom made for his girlfriend...it didn't work out, he never gave her the ring. I think the somd ad just ran out...he's advertised everywhere and at a substantial cut in what he paid for it. Even the jeweler that made it said it's hard to resell them..and he didn't offer to take it back.

I don't believe in the bad juju thing. When Ott and I got married, we didn't have a lot of money, each of us had a child and we had just purchased a house. I had my engagement ring from my prior marriage..we had it reset and bought a new band. We've been together almost 30 years..married almost 27.

4D, it's a beautiful ring. My mother has the same ring (from her second marriage after my dad died). I've always thought it was beautiful. It was a great ring for my mother since she was older and didn't really want or need an engagement ring. My step father passed away nearly two years ago, she still wears hers.

If I had the $$, I'd buy it just because I think it's beautiful. I have my original wedding bands, my 5 year anniversary wedding bands, and my 10 year anniversary bands. I'm saving them for my kids. They probably won't want them, but they're getting them anyway! :razz: If I didn't share kids with my husband, I would melt them down and make something for myself. In your case, since you didn't have children with your wife, I'd sell it really cheap to a fellow forumite :biggrin: What did you say your favorite liquor was again? :confused: :whistle:
