You can credit Betts all you like and he is running hard and I'm not even a Pottis fan. However, Denvers D line isn't getting pushed off the line by Betts or Portis or any other RB.

The O line gets the game ball in my book.
I agree. They came to play smashmouth trench warfare football. I love that kind.

Great win.:yay:

Given the same performance by the O line, Portis would have done as well?

I take it you just don't like Portis or haven't paid much attention to his career here? Or both? Betts is running hard, right now. Let's not pretend we've been keeping the superior back on the bench these last several years, OK?

Again, would Portis have performed as well as Betts today? I don't think so. Has nothing to do with whether I like the guy or not. You don't find it the least bit interesting that suddenly now that Portis is out their running game explodes?

It's pretty simple.

When the line plays well the running game does well, whomever the running back may be. When the line goes through five different rotations before week 10 you're bound to have problems. Today they played smashmouth. That's why you saw not only Betts get some bursts but also Ol' Rock Cartwright and even that new kid. Yes, Portis would have performed just as well.

Agree to disagree. I think Portis' style with this line doesn't work. With Betts it does.

It was a good win, for once.

Today, no, I don't think so either. I think Portis has packed it in a few weeks ago when this season started falling apart.

That said, he has had a bunch of games like Betts did today, power games, in his time here. He was NEVER suited for it and I have said so since he got here. However, he has DONE it and taken the pounding and put out.

Maybe it works better with Betts. For today at least it was working for all. Not only Betts but Cartwright and the new guy.

Afterall, if Betts was the guy we'd have seen him succeed earlier than now. Instead it's been a cloud of dust for two yards.

Holy mother of God. Anyone else watching this epic game?

This is almost better than the 2006 comeback where the Colts overcame a 20+ point deficit to beat the Pats to go to the Super Bowl.

Wow!
