I have a small issue with them right now! Got our kitten fixed there in the spring without any problems, got a puppy a month ago and have been going there for shots. All has been well until now= took puppy there earlier this week for 12 wk shots, told need to follow up in 3-4 wks for booster, which is between aug 3-10. okay, sounds good, I call today( a month in advance!) to be sure I have some choice in appts- not happening! So this is what I'm told by the receptionist- there is only one vaccination day in that 7 day span available, the rest of the days are surgery days or they are closed for some reason or another... So then she gets kinda rude when I can't do that exact day(of all days, that is one day I can't do it neither can my other half) and tells me if I can't bring her that day she will get off schedule, then I will have to pay for a booster shot! So your telling me- you want me to pay for a booster because you have ONE day available to give shots that week. Not happening, I made an appt for the following week, I will get her shots then and if a booster is needed I will not pay for it just because your schedule is so messed up that week- not my fault the vet wants off, they can have time off, just accomodate your schedule accordingly(ie take away a half day of surgeries & do vaccines in the afternoon)(more money paid for surgeries then vaccines so no cutting them out!) Can anyone tell me that 5 days later for a booster vaccine really makes that much difference???? Geez! JMO!!

IMHO our pets are so overvaccinated, just like we people are so overmedicated. Vets make bux from the 'boosters'. They want to give your pet as many as it's little body can handle. Google info on pet overvaccination and you'll get the other side of the story, which is not pretty and most folks are totally unaware of.

again IMHO. I do what is manditory by law, that's it. They are not going to ruin my pets own immune system with their drugs.

again IMHO.

Thanks.

If their busy and/or inconvenient schedule bothers you than feel free to make a timely appointment at your nearest vet. You get what you pay for...:yay: :yay:

:yeahthat:

They are likely able to offer services at lower cost because they keep a smaller schedule (part time vs full time employees).

If it bothers you, try going to three notch, st marys, all kinds, etc and see what you'll end up paying!

I'm with everybody else on this. The reason the cost is so low, is because they don't have the full time hours. Some people who work there are actually volunteering to work there, some are only working there a few hours a week at low compensation, they have other jobs as well, such as the actual vet. You should be thanking your lucky stars that the vet actually gives a crap and does this at all. These people are doing this because they want to offer lower prices to those in our community. If it isn't worth it to you to adjust your schedule to their availability, then go to a regular vet's office, or go on another day and pay the fee there, it's low enough. If you refuse to pay your bill, just because you are being a selfish hateful person, then I actually hope they refuse you service in the future. The location is operating at cost, and their prices show it. Just because you got your panties in a twist, doesn't mean you should make others suffer.

Sophie, our Chihuahua mix, went to see Dr Chapman, a holistic & homeopathic vet, last Thursday. The 1st thing she told me is to quit giving her vaccinations! She said this is an excessive immune stimulus for an elderly dog. If they are vaccinated when they are young, it should stay with them for many years; probably their whole lives.
The law says you have to vaccinate for Rabies so I will probably keep my dogs "legal"
We spent about 2 hours w/ Dr Chapman and she made some excellent suggestions for Sophies diet to include supplements and remedies.

IMHO our pets are so overvaccinated,

I agree...

Read this new study and guide for vaccinations. This is a worldwide committee.

Yes, it is technical, but if you take your time you will understand and if you have problem read Tables.

You could also give to your vet to read.

Lastly, Rabies are the only madontory shots.

IMO: I have Rabies at 4 mo and DHPP (No Lepto, or Corna) 1 at 3 mo 1 at 4 mo (not same week as Rabies). I also schedule any alters I can at 4 mo.

thats what I am doing with my cats, and will when I get my dog. Esp since they are indoors only and not around other animals. I see no reason to continue to vaccinate the hell out of them. The rabies I will do, but I won't get other ones past kitten/puppyhood.

that is pretty stupid. I get my dog vaccinated against all things due to the fact you never know what could happen. Did you know the lepto shot protects your puppy/dog if they drink out of a rain puddle or any water that is laying around outside or of that because if by any chance a raccoon or another animal like that took a pee in the puddle your dog could end up really sick. My vet is very knowledgeable and knows her stuff. I will not stop vaccinating my dog due to you all thinking you know everything when you actually know nothing. Also I think they also require the distemper shot but if they don't then when your dog gets distemper don't come running to us as you read on here that it is stupid to give your dogs the correct shots..

i am far from stupid...I do as I am supposed to. some of you have no freaking brains. I atleast have some knowledge. Maybe you should sit down with your vet and have him/her explain everything to you since u seem to think you know all. I atleast have knowledge from talking with my vet and many others vets about this and they all agree. if you want just get your dog the rabies and when he has problems down the line don't come running because I atleast use my brain and not go by what others think they know.

How is it your business? You don't want people telling you what to do with Bruno, so how about you MYOB when it comes to others' decisions regarding their pets?

 With the amount of complaining you do about your dog's allergies and ear problems..I don't think I want your advice on anything Pet related, thanks though.

Recommending, administering, and charging for re-administration of modified live vaccines like Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Feline Panleukopenia, injectable Feline Rhinotracheitis, and injectable Feline Calicivirus on an semi-annual, annual, bi-annual or tri-annual basis is theft by deception, fraud by misrepresentation, misrepresentation by silence, and undue influence given the literature that states:

1. The USDA Center for Biologic and Therapeutic Agents asserts that there is no scientific data to support label claims for annual re-administration of modified live vaccines, and label claims must be backed by scientific data.

2. It is the consensus of immunologist that a modified live virus vaccine must replicate in order to stimulate the immune system, and antibodies from a previous vaccination will block the replication of the new vaccinate virus. The immune status of the patient is not enhanced in any way. There is no benefit to the patient. The client is paying for something with insignificant or no effect, except that the patient is being exposed to unnecessary risk of an adverse reaction.

3. A temporal association has been demonstrated between vaccinations and the development of Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia.

4. It has been demonstrated that the duration of immunity for Canine Distemper virus is 7 years by challenge, and 15 years by serology; for Canine Parvovirus is 7 years by challenge, for Feline Panleukopenia, Rhinotracheitis, and Feline Calicivirus is 7.5 years by challenge.

A reasonable client would not elect re-administration of any of the above stated vaccinations for a previously immunized pet if provided with the above information
