I try to be nice but when I see you people making fun of a sweetheart like JP, it really sets me on fire.

check out some of her previous posts, she's not the sweetheart you think she is. I've seen many people take up for her and she turns around and stabs them in the back.

Sophie, our Chihuahua mix, went to see Dr Chapman, a holistic & homeopathic vet, last Thursday. The 1st thing she told me is to quit giving her vaccinations! She said this is an excessive immune stimulus for an elderly dog. If they are vaccinated when they are young, it should stay with them for many years; probably their whole lives.
The law says you have to vaccinate for Rabies so I will probably keep my dogs "legal"
We spent about 2 hours w/ Dr Chapman and she made some excellent suggestions for Sophies diet to include supplements and remedies.
:howdy:
I agree...

Read this new study and guide for vaccinations. This is a worldwide committee.

Yes, it is technical, but if you take your time you will understand and if you have problem read Tables.

You could also give to your vet to read.

Lastly, Rabies are the only madontory shots.

IMO: I have Rabies at 4 mo and DHPP (No Lepto, or Corna) 1 at 3 mo 1 at 4 mo (not same week as Rabies). I also schedule any alters I can at 4 mo.
I agree. I don't vaccinate old dogs either, except for rabies. :buddies: My two oldest ones are now 12. They won't be getting any more shots and haven't for the last 2 years.

that is pretty stupid. I get my dog vaccinated against all things due to the fact you never know what could happen. Did you know the lepto shot protects your puppy/dog if they drink out of a rain puddle or any water that is laying around outside or of that because if by any chance a raccoon or another animal like that took a pee in the puddle your dog could end up really sick. My vet is very knowledgeable and knows her stuff. I will not stop vaccinating my dog due to you all thinking you know everything when you actually know nothing. Also I think they also require the distemper shot but if they don't then when your dog gets distemper don't come running to us as you read on here that it is stupid to give your dogs the correct shots..

:boo:

Folks on here are right, you are indeed stupid.

I highly recommend the Well Pet Clinic for vaccinations, spaying or neutering services, flea and tick mess, annual well pet visits and they will also see your pet for minor sick visits. My daughter's friend's mother Mrs. Knight is the house vet. The spay/ neuter surgeries are done by another vet. It is very cost effective for basic well pet being. I have also heard nothing but wonderful things about All Kinds in Calloway.

All Kinds are my vets and they are great! Dr Autumn even told me she would come to my house (after hours) if I wanted, when it is my old guys time. You can't beat that!

i had my dog spayed there, and i usually have them do the vacinations and get her meds there (they are cheaper by a lot shot and dont require an appointment).

But i take her to three notch on airport drive for anything emergency or out of the norm. Last year she tore her butt open (about 7 inches) at about 600pm. i called three notch, they had me bring her in and had her put back together in a few hours. One doctor and a vet tech stayed until almost 9 so that i could pick her up and she could spend the night at home. Not cheap, but they really cared about her and went out of their way to make sure she was seen to.

I didn't know there was a Well Pet Clinic in St Mary's. I have been using a Clinic in Waldorf, and have had NO problems with them. The price is right, and even the Front-Line is cheaper than anywhere else I have found. Make sure that you tell the Vet that when your Dog gets the distemper shot, that it also has Leptospirosis in it. I didn't know they had 2 kinds, and evidentally, in Calvert County, Lepto is a problem.

We dont use the word FAT!!!! We use the words "well loved"

Thanks

Well Pet :yay: (but also have a RDVM on hand in case you have a sick pet... :buddies:)

That is a very good idea to have a DVM on hand for emergencies. I use Solomons. To iCit, in reference to the word "Well Loved", verses fat..I prefer the word "Fluffy".
