Wellbutrin and Xanax

I hate taking that stuff, makes me feel too strange. However, the thing that works really well for me, of all things, is DayQuill. Two of those and I just mellow out.

"Oh, the car just died 100 miles from home? No problem..."

"Oh, my taxes just went up another $500? No problem..."

:roflmao:

I am the complete opposite...

Baby poured apple juice in the dvd player :cds:

Dog took the baby's pretzel :cds:

Taxes went up another $500?:cds: .......... :dead:

Xanax doesn't make me feel weird, high, etc. I'm calm... like I just received a relaxing facial.

I took xanax for a long time, but never took them during the day if I had to work or go somewhere. They made me too sleepy. I took those and an anti depressant for years. I'm surprised the xanax doesn't calm you down.

Xanax - .25 during the day takes the edge off
Xanax - .50 a night helps turn the brain off so you can sleep :)

Works fine will Wellbutrin as prescribed. I does take a while for that to build up in your system.

Good luck!

Any reviews on either of them? So far I just feel tired but not really relaxed. :boo:

I still feel like I'm ####ing crazy... but... whatever. :coffee: I guess it has only been 4 days.

Wellbutrin is sometimes used as a supplement to the traditional SSRI anti depressants but can be prescribed by itself. It can take 2-6 weeks before it has any effects, as practically all ADs do, so be patient. If it doesn't work the Dr. may give you something else. Unfortunately it's a hit or miss thing with ADs.

Xanax is in the benzodiazepene family of drugs and .5 mg is not a particularly large dose so take it as prescribed. It is for panic attacks not GAD (general anxiety disorder), Valium is much better for that and the Dr. may switch you to it at some point, but be extremely careful driving for awhile, no long trips!

You're just starting out so it takes a while and a bit of trial and error to find out what works for you. I never found the right combo myself so I just said F-the ADs, give me some beer.:otter:

Good Luck!

And P.S. You can learn more than your Dr. by searching it on the internet.

Sorry to hear that. It was very successful with someone I know but then the insurance companies decided that they wouldn't cover it unless the official diagnosis was "depression" and the person I know didn't want to be saddled with that history so had to stop taking it.

Kind of stupid on the part of the insurers because now it's going to cost them mega-bucks to treat other health issues related to smoking on down the line but hey, God forbid medical insurance companies should do anything that makes sense for the patient.

Welbutrin is now generic. maybe your friend could pay out of pocket?

Lexapro works well for anxiety/panic and has less side effects then some other ADs. Just watch the weight gain.

That is so ironic because it did absolutely nothing for me but make me drowsy. I didn't gain weight though, guess I was sleeping through meals.

... then I get in bed to go to sleep and can't sleep because I thought of something else to worry about.

:banghead:

my wife cannot shut down at bed time, her brain is still running at warp speed @ 0200 she finally drops around 4

she was taking Efexor ..... but the doc has added something else - because that really wasn't working either ...

I tried Lexapro... It did nothing for me but make me hungry and I was still sad and pissed off all the time. For those that know me in real life, you know I had an eating disorder for 6 years. Gaining weight is not an option for me :nono: it will just throw me into a deeper depression.

OMG... I was on Effexor XR for a year and :jameo: My body hated it. I would get these things called "head shocks" or "brain surges" where it felt like my face was being electrocuted. Then the withdrawls coming off of them made me want to ####ing DIE! :cds: I told the doc about the side effects and he said they would go away. LIES!!!

So far Wellbutrin hasnt given me any of that but he still wants me to see a neurologist because when he was running tests... I couldnt stand with my eyes closed and hands out (palms up) without falling over. :frown: I mean, can anyone do this? Try it please...

Have to agree with the porn star. Xanax makes me calm and I loved that about it. It has been years since I've had any though. I wish it was over the counter. I used to take my mom or ex's leftovers.

Husband: How long until he ups the dose?

WR: I am going to watch TV in the room. :SLAM:
