We are so excited! This is the longest day ever! We just got home from Petsmart and the Humane Society checking into puppy classes. Now the kids are setting up the crate and putting the toys (that they bought with their own money) into it.

DID YOU GET HIM, did you get him? You gotta let us know HOW it goes and what his personality is like?!* :howdy:

We named him Mack, as in Mack truck.
I personally liked Jax, but hubby said no. :bawl:

Congrats on your new pup-just for you!

A STUMP FOR A TAIL

You can't buy loyalty, they say
I bought it though, the other day;
You can't buy friendship, tried and true,
Well just the same, I bought that too.
I made my bid, and on the spot
Bought love and faith and a whole job lot
Of happiness, so all in all
The purchase price was pretty small.
I bought a single trusting heart,
That gave devotion from the start.
If you think these things are not
for sale, Buy a brown-eyed puppy with
a stump for a tail.

Homecoming went well. We did an introduction in the front yard and everyone got along great. We had a minor scuffle this morning when my son was trying to be helpful and feed Jake (the chessie) with the Mack there too. Luckily I was there and got it under control. I think my son got the message that that was not a good idea. I still need to weigh him, but just gave him a bath and don't want to traumatize him any further.

Want me to ride with you to go get her?

This stuff burns me up:
http://www.washhumane.org/adopt/adoptGA.asp

Sandy is a quiet 4-month-old female torti. Her previous owners left her outside one day while they cleaned their house, thinking she was safer there than being exposed to cleaning agents, when some neighborhood kids tied her to the patio so she wouldn't run away. Sandy got tangled up and almost hung herself trying to get free. Her owners decided to give her up because they couldn't afford to take her to the vet. Sandy was understandably shaken and nervous her first few days at the shelter, but has warmed up and looks forward to meeting her new family. In the meantime, she is learning to make friends with the other cats and kittens.

Winky is a 1-year-old gray tiger and white male who wasn't enjoying the festivities this Independence Day when some neighborhood kids decided to use him as a fireworks target. His owner told us that they not only kicked him, but also tried to stick fireworks in his ears. Winky was taken immediately to the vet where it was determined he had no injuries, just a red stain on his white fur and a small singe mark on his nose. His owner told us that the neighborhood kids were always beating him up, but she didn't want to bring him inside, so she thought it was best that he come to the shelter and look for a new home. Winky is a frisky cat who loves to explore and climb. He gets along well with the other cats.
