I think you should have a cook out and invite your hairsylist!!!Chasey_Lane said:My cabinets are stocked with food, including two fridge/freezers, yet I continually go to the grocery store weekly. But of the stuff we have, you can't make a full meal out of it - or I'm just clueless on what to make. I hate going to the grocery store knowing there's all this food just sitting there. We could use it all up, but everyone in the family would have to eat separate things until it was all gone.
What are some dinner ideas for leftover/odd food items? Should I donate the boxed/canned goods to clear up some space? But then I'd just buy more!
Because they are weird items and not enough to make a meal for everyone. Just a few things I have: one salmon filet, 2 packages of hot dogs (we had some last night for dinner) 3 small fish filets, a handfull of chicken tenders, 1/2 bag of potstickers (I'm the only one who eats them), pretzels, a ton of waffles, sherbert, Texas Toast, 2 pork loins (finally, a meal) flour, bag of ice and a few cheapie boxed meals.vraiblonde said:Chasey, if both your freezer AND your pantry are stocked, why can't you get a full meal going?
What have you got?
Ewww! Give those to socki, she loves 'em!Christy said:I really could unload a couple boxes of 10 yr old Hamburger Helper.

Now, onto the cabinets: canned vegetables (corn and peas), rice, BBQ sauce, vienna sausages (no idea why - I didn't buy them), packets of marinade, popcorn, canned fruit (including those apple thingy's), taco shells (a quick trip to the store for meat and I've got another meal), chicken & dumpling stuff (I'm the only one who eats this, too), tuna fish (another me only food) and some other things.
Anyone have a meal idea?

She had a freezer that was literally frozen shut for over a year - I had to unplug it and let it thaw to get it to open - I threw everything out that was in it. Needless to say, she wasn't happy. I told her if she set foot in the grocery store within a 30-day time period, I'd shoot her on sight.
There's no need for any household to have 6 different cans of Old Bay in their house. I don't care who you are.
And you know what? I probably have all three of you's beat. A large walk-in pantry, a large deep freezer in the garage, a fridge/freezer combo in the garage, and a huge side-by-side contraption in the house. All jam p-a-c-k-e-d.pixiegirl said:OMG... My mother is JUST like that and never cooks. I tell her she's a hoarder! Not only with food but with household supplies as well. She goes to BJ's weekly. There are so many things that I don't have to buy because she sends them home with me weekly because she's got so much she doesn't have room for it all. Paper towels, cat treats (who has 2 cats and 20 unopened packages of cat treats? my mom, that's who!), canned anything except vegetables (those are all frozen) including canned salmon , mac and cheese, the list goes on. I don't know why she has ANY food in the house at all because she and my father literally eat out EVERY night.

Other than milk and bread, I could easily live off the food in my house for at least six months. Really.
And yet I am making my grocery list to go shopping again. ...makes no damn sense.....
toilet paper hell we should go to her house to grocery shoppixiegirl said:You live a lot closer can I start coming to your house for paper towels and toilet paper?
I do that almost every time I go to the grocery store. When something runs out, I make a note of it on some cute magnetic note pad that I have on the fridge. But when you bring a husband and two girls with you, they all want this and that, which is never on the list. I am a nice mommy and I always say yes no matter what.Cowgirl said:Do like Nickel said, make a list and take it shopping with you.

D doesn't go shopping with me, but when J comes, I let him pick out one thing, and that's it. I'm not a pushover, and we buy only what we're going to eat.Chasey_Lane said:I do that almost every time I go to the grocery store.
