Are you insecure then to have to come to a RELIGIOUS thread to "correct" us?

Do you feel better proving me wrong on evolution verses creation?????? I'm sure you feel you made your point very well.

Want a lollipop??

Lollys usually work wonders when trying to settle insecure children down..

Being a Christian you should be tolerant, am I right?

And I know you don't expect someone to make a decison about all time and eternity without hearing ALL sides of the argument.. That would be kind of selfish, wouldn't it?

So if someone comes in here searching for the truth, they should get ALL the answers so they can determine what is the truth for themselves, instead of getting just one side of the story.

You can't make an informed decision about anything if you are only getting portions of the facts, or only one side of the story.

Would you believe me if I told you I climbed a mountain and a tree talked to me, and said this was my mission, that God spoke to me and said, "Share My beliefs, they all have it wrong.. I don't need churches, I don't need their money, I just need them to be GOOD people"??
Tolerant you can believe what you want and that I must (being Christlike) treat you with respect and know you have the ability to decide for yourself and I'm not judge of your thoughts... but I don't have to say everyone is right and no one is wrong. That's mickey mouse land, that pie in the sky people think. Just ask the millions of martyrs about tolerance! Regardless of the religion, there is no way tolerance is visible. Look at my comments about mormons... why can't people be tolerant with my views? [Because in the end everyone decides their truth... and because it is their truth.... they defend it.]

Tolerance goes both ways.

No, I wouldn't believe you simply because you violated too many Scriptures by saying in your vision Jesus would then have to be a liar. (Jesus spoke of good, money, church)

Jesus already did that. He said He was the first and the last... And as to the totally messed up society... if they don't believe a man who came back from the dead and had over five hundred witness to this fact... they are not going to believe some new guy on the street.

Where are all the supporting documents of this MIRACLE!??

Were any of these 500 people literate? Do you think they saw the importance of what they saw and maybe wrote it in a diary or a journal, or just wrote it down because it was COOL!??

NO? Why not?? Why was it a few hundred years later that someone thought.. You know my great great grand uncle told me this story about Jesus rising form the grave, we should write it down..

All the scholars, Doctors, teachers and priest that followed Jesus, that witnessed miracle after miracle, not ONE of them thought to write it down.

So miracles were possible 2000 - 6000 years ago.. but not today... interesting.. I can't talk to a bush or a tree because it 2007 and not 10BC.. I can't live to be 600 years old because it's 2007 and not 4000 BC..

So what is acceptable and believable from 4 THOUSAND years ago, is not today?

You really need some school... the entire New Testament was written within 30-60 years of the seen resurrection, by those who witnessed it! The five hundred witnesses are recorded in Acts. Don't believe all the modern day divinci code mystycism... go and research when the Bible was WRITTEN not accepted!

Who cares about literacy? When you see something you are a witness! Jesus did not go through philosopher training or any type of education whatsoever.... His wisdom goes beyond anything anyone has said on this entire site.

Miracles do happen... not sure where you got that info.

Coming back from the dead, however, now no one has duplicated that feat! Go ahead and look for dead gods or no gods... I will take the power of resurrection any day.

.

OK, in 0 - 250 AD the life expectancy of a human was about 30 years.. if everyone was an adult that witnessed the resurerection and the bible was written 30 - 60 years after the fact (actually it was sometime between 45 - 200 AD) NONE of the witnesses to the resurrection could have been there to write the Bible.

And that's just the miracle of MATH!!

Are you sure God doesnt approve of it? there are an awful lot of Parables, used to explain the goodness of God/Christians/the Message, where the man had multiple wives.

Genesis 4:19
Genesis 31:17
Exodus 21:10
Deuteronomy 21:15
Judges 8:30
1 Samuel 1:1-2
2 Samuel 12:7-8
1 Chronicles 4:5
2 Chronicles 11:21
2 Chronicles 13:21
2 Chronicles 24:3
Mathew 25:1

Why would the Bible talk about these men, in a favorable light, if it didnt approve of the practice? (because back then it was a common practice, and wasnt thought of as anything negative)
MAN had multiple wives. God dealt with man... when MAN chose to have more than one God set our laws and rules... doesn't mean approval. Have you ever looked at the disfunctional families in the Bible who had more than one wife?

The person in the Bible to follow is God through Jesus Christ. The men in the Bible were sinners (those who did wrong) and so we don't follow their example except their example be in Christ Jesus. For example, King David committed adultery (not to mention multiple wives)... Did God really approve of this action or did he (David) face consequences? In fact he did. You can read of them. David still was loved by God even in David's disobedience... David repented and loved God. That is the point of the story. I.e. do we repent of wrong and turn to God and not man?

ONe of the unique qualities of the Bible is man is not glorified or built up as some greater god. The Bible demonstrates over and over the weaknesses and inabilities of man. Why? God is the provider, not man.
