What removes deck stain from balusters?

Hubby & I have finally finished building our deck :)yahoo:) and have been staining it as weather/time/baby permits. We used aluminum balusters and of course, wound up getting some stain drips on the balusters. :cds:

What works best to remove the stain drips without taking the color off the aluminum? Mineral spirits, maybe? Thanks!

When I stained my deck I got some on the vinyl siding of the house. It's still there and I've tried numerous things with the exception of paint removers, etc. Didn't want to take the coloring off of the siding.

Oh no, not what I was hoping to hear! Hubby also got a tiny bit on a small section of siding but was pretty careful next to the house. We put a potted plant in front of it. :killingme

Did you try mineral spirits by any chance? Someone thought that might work but wasn't sure.

Minerals spirits, and everything else you can still buy in a hardware store. Now if I had some MEK, that would probably do it. I might try a little paint remover if I get ambitious, but it's not in places where you can see it so I'm not real concerned.

What is the color - paint, plastic cladding, aladine?
If you have any scrap left over from building, test out various removers/cleaners

I tried a product called "Oops" for removing tree sap from our deck frame. It claims to also remove paint and varnish, markers, tar/asphalt, and gum. Might have to try it judiciously, but this could be something that works.
