Feeling a little melancholy today


I haven't heard that song in a minute.

Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber for the musical.


I like this for melancholy, or feelings of woe-woe as I used to ask my family. Example: oldest girl child moping around. "Sweetie, are you feeling woe-woe today?" "Yeah, daddy; I need a hug."

I never had any sons, so I couldn't tell them to suck it up and go do something.

This is a picture of Ray's life-long song-writing partner, Marian Grudeff. I couldn't find whether they were married, or what, but I don't think they were. She is seated at the piano, and Ray is standing behind her.

I saw that when it originally aired, thought I was gonna have a heart attack from laughing so hard. Think I have probably posted it more than once out here in the past.

I love Helene Grimaud. Mozart, not so much. However, this little arrangement with a casual chamber-orchestral setup really does something to this work.
