Cuts off abruptly, but a fun one. Keiko Komaki and friends "Keiko Boogie." Komaki now resides in New Orleans, but was originally from Japan.

I never knew music that was fast, loud, and unintelligible was testosterone-driven. Learn something new every day, I reckon.

Just for you, warn:

That's EXACTLY the song that plays in my head when I see a picture of WarNutz in his glitter oil and shimmer workout shorts...:yay:

Rammstein - "Ich Tu Dir Weh (I Hurt You).

Unofficial Translation ©2009 Jeremy Williams.

You're only alive for me
I poke medals into your face
You are utterly devoted to me
You love me because I don't love you

You bleed for the salvation of my soul
A little cut and you're turned on
Your body already completely disfigured
Whatever, anything goes

I hurt you
I'm not sorry
It does you good
Listen to it scream

With you, I choose the torment [1]
Barbed wire in the urethra
Put your flesh in salt and pus
First you die but then you'll keep living

Bites, kicks, hard blows
Needles, pliers, dull saw
Make a wish, I won't say no
And I'll insert the rodents into you

I hurt you
I'm not sorry
It does you good
Listen to it scream

You are the ship, I'm the captain
Where do you want to go?
I see your face in the mirror
You love me because I don't love you

I hurt you
I'm not sorry
It does you good
Listen to it scream

[1] "Die Qual der Wahl" is a German idiom that means "the agony of choice". Here, this has been reversed (as in "I have the choice of agony"). The word "Qual", however, also has other possible translations, such as torment or torture.

I was already familiar with this song by Duke Ellington and his Famous Orchestra, but someone commented on the song being the "roots" of Deep Purple's "Lazy." I can see some similarities, but that's true of a lot of rock songs.

Duke Ellington, C Jam Blues.

A timeless classic. Elton John, "Yellow Brick Road." The first song is "Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding." We played it at the memorial for 2 of our shipmates.

Yeah. The point of reference of, say DP, the Stones, so many bands, for them, as kids coming of age in the 50's, I mean, they had no rock bands to serve as a basis going forward like kids who grew up on Deep Purple did. They had what they had. Swing, blues, the pop of the day.

And here we are today, with ALL of that to reference back to, kids with more skill and talent than could be dreamed of in the Dukes day or even Blackmore's, and, what do we have? Rap. I look forward to a renaissance in talented black musicians to inspire a new generation instead of the gangster poet thing. Time to stop lowering the bar and start raising it again.

My new flavor of the month. I think I have a crush on Jeff Loomis. Omg, the sweeps!
