My daughter goes to Waldorf MVA today. Everyone in line wearing mask. She refuses. 4pm appt. gets called at 4:30. Medical exemption. Won’t let her in. Gets on walker talkie. Low n behold she can renew online now with flip of switch. Doesn’t go inside. No mask. Online renewal and ok now. Done. Out before everyone else. BS.

I used this to get a new certificate. I think a few others here have too. Costs a few $, but easy.
I can't believe I never revisited this thread. My Certificate of Live Birth from Virginia worked for my Real ID. I don't plan on visiting ANY federal facilities nor ever flying, but I've got a Real ID that proves I'm not an illegal alien undocumented citizen.

My daughter turns 21 next week. Yesterday she had an appointment at Waldorf MVA to get a new license that is not sideways. She sends a picture to me at 3:30 showing a line of people outside all wearing a mask. At 4:15 they start calling for 4pm appointments. She walks to the door without a mask. Of course they won’t let her in. She states medical exemption. This causes activity and crackle on the walkie talkies of the employees. They tell my daughter someone will come outside to assist her. By now it is 4:30 - time to lock the doors and close up shop. But an employee must stand outside with her until she is helped. Finally after about 15mins of back and forth on the radios the employee tells her she can renew online, which she had already tried before making the appointment. Apparently they “flipped a switch” inside to allow this for her since she was not wearing a mask. Less than 5 minutes later with the help of the employee her license was renewed outside and online. What she thought was going to turn into an hours long affair ended up getting her out of there quicker than the other 4pm appointments.

I’m glad she stuck to her guns. I have raised a rebel! At 20 years old she is not afraid to stand up for herself.

And they did not. Overall she was pleased with how she was treated yesterday at the MVA.
Ever since the chip fell off of my shoulder, I've had nothing BUT good interactions at the MVA. I've spent plenty of time waiting for services and have witnessed way too many people that don't do their homework before walking in the door. I always check the website for materials needed to do whatever it is that I'm going there for, but there are a lot of idiots in MD that don't. To top it off, they aggravate the clerks and the next customer has to deal with a PO'd clerk.

As you know working in retail, it only takes one bad customer to ruin your day. I try my hardest to be nice with all retail employees regardless of how bad they are or the attitude they have. Even after my un-masked encounter with the DG employee yesterday who was relentlessly arguing with me about the damn mask, I end my transaction with her in a friendly tone telling her to try to enjoy her evening.

That sounds frustrating! I get it, waiting in line is no one's idea of a good time. Have you guys heard about tools like the ID Analyzer API (check it out here: https://www.idanalyzer.com )? They streamline ID verification processes, which could potentially help speed things up at the DMV. I think technology could really smooth out these kinds of bureaucratic headaches. What do you all think? Any other tips for dealing with long waits at the DMV?

I have not spent even 15 minutes in DMV the last few years. In and out...They rock it with their apt system.
