What would you buy?

Well, that's 2 local Ford dealers that I won't be dealing with.

All of the Ford dealers in southern Maryland have the same owner. I have had good luck with them, before that Toyota of Southern Maryland had been great to me.

Regarding sunroofs, all sunroofs actually leak, they have a gutter system around/under them that catches the water and a tube(s) that carries it down under the car to get rid of it. The only time this is usually a problem is when that tube gets plugged up which is pretty rare.

My kids have Jeeps. The son has a Cherokee (I think) and the daughter (actually the son-in-law) has the Wrangler. They're VERY happy with the reliability and service. My short list for vehicles to look at whenever I get ready to buy something includes Jeep.

P.S. I know how rough my kids are on vehicles. Those Jeeps have taken a lot of abuse from those kids, no doubt, and are doing just fine.

No, I don't want a GP jeep . I want an SUV jeep. I don't think I need to pay the price of a Grand Cherokee to get what I'm looking for, so I'm looking at the Jeep Cherokee Limited. 28 and change.

I would drive one with the little engine before buying, it hanst gotten rave reviews in the Dart. Just not enough grunt for a 4,000lb truck. Whereas the 3.2 liter v6 gets nice things said about it.

Never heard Navigator and practical in the same sentence, thanks for the laugh!

Practical is subjective. I'm currently driving a 2 seater, so a Navigator would be practical in comparison. But, I'm not buying one.

Tahoe or Suburban (if you need the extra room).

We have an '06 Honda Pilot and don't like it.
I love my '97 Suburban.

I would buy an Explorer or Expedition if I didn't go with Chevrolet.

enjoy the GM Recalls
[that is what my wife keeps saying]

I am more of a Ford guy ...

[although I recently had a GMC Yukon Fully loaded rental with less than 3000 miles on the OD, that puppy was nice]

But the experience varies not just by customer, but by which service writer/mechanic combo you get on any given day. Took me a year to break in the service writer and manager at Park Dodge, and every time they got a new one, it was a learning curve for the new person.

You get one of the service writers that just knows that every customer is a flaming idiot to be brushed off, or who see's every vehicle as a chance to pad the bill, combined with a lazy or greedy mech who's just marking time, you can have a crappy experience.

Something to consider -- my service writer will meet me down here, give me a rental, then meet up w/me again when my vehicle is done. However, there are times when I've traveled to the dealership because I've been in the area.

So, if there is a vehicle you are considering possibly but they don't have a dealership in the area, ask them about their service.

They just bought out Ken Dixon Chevy, Cadillac, Honda, in October.

And Ron Bortnick (sp?) Ford in Upper Marlboro.

So now they own:
Waldorf Ford
Waldorf Chevy/Cadillac/Honda
Waldorf Dodge/Jeep
Lex Park Ford
L'town Ford
Prince Frederick Ford
Upper Marlboro Ford

I, for one, am VERY happy with the sale and service departments on the purchase of my Focus from Waldorf Ford. It was a demo car, and there was a little paint damage on the hood, and they were very good about repainting the hood to fix it.

Its Waldorf Dodge. Jeep is part of Waldorf Chrysler.

Waldorf Dodge dealership sells every thing Jeep but Jeeps.

Tom Cody is the guy that owns all those dealerships and quite a few more (Richmond Ford for example). There were 13 locations about 2 years ago and he keeps adding more to that so may be double that by now.

Darcars (John Darvish) owns Waldorf Chrysler Jeep.

Pick up my new ride tomorrow. Made a down payment instead of trading, so I'll be selling my car. There will be tears :bawl:

I went with the Santa Fe Limited.
