**Anyone seen Vrai, saw her area down south got hit pretty good today.

The commercial area bout 2 miles from my house got hammered but good. Wiped out, turned to rubble. My favorite pizza place - gone. My house had HIGH! wind and large hail, which was the most terrifying part, but nothing broken. These park models, man....they're beasts :yay:

A former forumite - I think she used to be NachoMama? - lives here and posted some destruction pics on her FB page. Also my friend Dana is full time RV but used to live in SMC - she's staying at the state park a few miles from me and they got nailed. She's okay and I think her RV is fine, but tornado made a direct hit on that campground, so lots of bad news.

Here's a local gal's pics from FB...

:yikes:

A lot of injuries but surprisingly few fatalities. :yay:

The beach house in the first one is sitting at a hell of an angle.

Yeah, some builder is going to get sued over that because houses along the Gulf and even inland like me are tied down to within an inch of their lives. But apparently not this one.....

Anyway, tonight is cheeseburger twice baked potatoes. It's a baked potato with the guts hollowed out and filled with a layer of cheese and ground beef with grilled onions. Then you mash the guts with sour cream, more cheese, and whatever else you want and mound it on top of the beef. Bake at 400* for 15 minutes or until hot.

One of the cool things about working at restaurants is you learn to do things like this. 🥔

Sounds delicious! I've made them before and it's a long process. Sistard made them for Christmas dinner.

So it was a bologna sandwich tonight, but the wife also bought a 3 lb tomahawk ribeye and I have to tell you that thing has me a little intimidated.

Yes, that was her forum name! Sorry about your pizza place - which one was it? I don't know that I had pizza down there with you. Is that the place near Muy Wayneos? OMG, how did they do? :yikes:

One of my cousins from Ohio and his wife also live there and they said they didn't have any damage to THEIR place. He said he expected worse, but I'm sure that was before all the reports started coming in.

Muy Wayne O wasn't anywhere near the action, as far as I'm aware. Alibi was right in the line of fire but apparently they were fine, he posted on his Facebook page that he was opening up last night.

The pizza place was Shore Shack, I don't think we went there while you were here.

I always lose the sense of direction where places are located until I get back down there.

A recipe called Chicken Pot Pie Chowder. Basically, chicky and dumplings, using 2 cups of frozen mixed veggies and 2-1/2 cups cooked chicken. (I had cooked thighs in the freezer land added 1-1/2 breasts that I baked this am). This recipe also used canned biscuits. I usually make my dumplings, but I had a can of biscuits leftover from NY Eve, so I used those up. Collage_2024-01-14_18_23_43~2.jpg
