We had a neighborhood cookie swap today - my contribution was brownie bites with cream cheese frosting and sprinkled with crushed candy cane. The star, imo, was the gingerbread my friend made. It was perfect! So I took home a couple pieces to eat for breakfast but ended up snarfing them with coffee while watching The Office.

So far, a Kind peanut and dark chocolate protein bar. Probably leftover spaghetti and salad, when I finally make it home.

Big ol' pot of chicken noodle soup and chicken salad on biscuits. Mommy Dearest had an oven stuffer roaster in the chest freezer for 2 years, so I rolled the dice. The stock turned out tasty and the breast meat is okay. Now I have to figure out what to do with about 12 lbs of lean ground beef that tastes like elk meat.

This sounded good, so I got a nice chop today, just grilled it outside and put it in the crock pot with German sauerkraut and caraway. I'll add some apples later.
Wow. Talk about a blast from the past... I grew up on a farm where almost nothing we ate ever came from a "grocery store". Mom was great at cooking, canning, freezing, baking etc about anything but she was particularly fond of Penn Dutch cooking...

Where my invitation?

Lacking an invitation appropriate to my stature, I think we're having leftover seasoned pork tenderloin and rice.

Just sneakin' around....
Where my invitation?
Probably got lost, along with my invitation to the Tiki.

My Maternal Grandma was German, so we grew up on a lot of those kinds of dishes. In her later years, she lived in a Jewish neighborhood, so we got a Jewish and Yiddish education.
