What's for dinner?

Just sneakin' around....
A couple of chicken pot pies. By the time I finished working in the basement and got a shower, it was too late to start or defrost anything.

Chicken pot pies trigger the biggest arguments between m mother and I. She loves them, but I find the sodium content horrifying and cannot understand why she doesn’t. I give in and tell her I’ll just add “death by pot pie” to her eulogy.

I love those little pot pies. But always have to add a generous helping of peas and carrots or mixed vegetables to them.

I have to watch my salt and carbs, but once in a while it's ok. Last time I had one was about 3 months ago.

Everyone's going to die of something. Might as well be a potpie.

I had popcorn for dinner tonight and graham crackers for dessert. Tomorrow I'll have to eat something healthy to make up for it.

I'm a homesick Texan today so I'm making fideo loco. It's a hearty spicy Mexican soup with vermicelli, beef, corn, and pinto beans in a tomato gravy.

Had my granddaughter, and she wanted McD's chicken nuggets. So I had my first-in-forever quarter pounder :dead:

BUT! it was $25 for two of us! A burger, nuggets, fries, drinks.

I told her NEVER again. I could have bought all the fixins for $25 and had something worth eating.

Yesterday I threw a $3+ corned beef ($1.69 a pound!) in the crock pot along with some carrots, potatoes and cabbage and let it cook all day. It was excellent and there are plenty of left overs for today and tomorrow! Meat was tender and I sliced off what I wanted with a butter knife!

Haven't gotten to it yet. Last few weeks have been busy with the Nephew moving out, changing things around at the house and a new dog.

I'm gonna pickup a nice size roast this weekend and start the process on Sunday. I've already got most of what I need.
What ever happened with the sauerbraten?
