Do you always plan to stay celibate? Ever want to re-marry?

Who says I am celibate? I just do that kind of stuff when the kids are with their dad. No need to have them around for that.

At this time, marriage is just a effeing waste of my time and effort.

It's not like my kids sleep in my bed every single night, most of the time they sleep in their own beds. The dogs and cats...well....my bed is their bed

So when he's screaming at the top of his lungs (in pain, his tummy) & wakes up our 6 year old then nobody gets any rest, that will correct itself?

If he wakes up every night screaming in pain, shouldn't you consult a doctor?

It seems to me that my kids slept through the night - meaning at least 8 hours - by the time they were two months old, at least. My grandson sleeps 9 or 10 hours through at slightly over 1 month. But every kid is different.

I guess I should clarify. It's not that horrible in pain cry every night. But it seems he's waking up because he has a gas pain & the only thing to calm him down until he passes gas is to be held & sometimes that (being held) doesn't really help much. He's been on whole milk for a few weeks now & I'm thinking maybe he needs soy for his tummy. He was on the gentlease formula before but that was milk based. I also am attributing some of the fussiness to him cutting teeth, you just don't know until they get old enough so they can tell you!

My daughter is a horrible sleeper and at 3 1/2 still occasionally wakes up. My son, almost 2, has been a great sleeper since about a month old. They both have the same routine.

Why me??
My daughter is 8 weeks old and she sleeps at least 5 hours in the night. We just started her in her crib in her room this week. SO far so good........... I just can't wait when she sleeps more threw the night!!

I'm sure she already took him to the doctor. She said he has gassy tummy.

For those who have trouble getting their babies t sleep, have you tried:

1. Soft music playing on CD player?

2. Lovely blanket or an old t-shirt with your body smell on it that they think you are in bed with them because of your body smell?

3. Pat or rub the baby's tummy/back/butt softly to help him/her to go back to sleep?

I've tried 2 & 3 to no avail. He also has that ocean wonders seahorse that glows & plays lullabyes. He doesn't care. He has started out in his bed from day 1. I didn't even put him in bed with us when I was nursing him. It's just something that seems to have happened over time. Teething, ears (has tubes now), gas, it's always something!

Try soft music (not lullabyes). Try a CD that have nature background noise such as ocean waves, rain, Indian drums beat (soft), etc. You might have to go through bunches of soft music CDs to see which one works.

Yeah, it's always something. My baby had a cough that sounded like barking seal cough (I can't remember the name of it right now) last November/December, and we had been up with him every night to do a 15 minutes hot shower steaming the bathroom and then take him outside for 5 minutes sitting on our porch wrapped with blankets.

I still can't sleep through the night yet. I'm constantly waking up to check on the kids to make sure they are alright even though they are. I guess I'm just a nervous Mom and not able to hear made it worst (my alert system doesn't wake me up when the baby cries).

I know, the nights he HAS slept through the night, I didn't! I had to go make sure he was okay. I may have to try the music although I don't think he's necessarily waking up for ME, he just gets a pain...I will figure something out, hopefully sooner than later!

Other idea is call the doctor to discuss about milk and gassy issues. Doctor might be able to prescribe something that will help the gassy issues.

I wish you a good luck and I hope he'll sleep through the night once you figure out what's works. :huggy:

For real... I mean sleep straight through, no bottle...

S will be a 1yr at the end of the month and she has Never slept through the night without waking up for a feeding

Mine turned on in November and she has been sleeping through the night since she was about 6 weeks old. I give her a cup of milk before bed (she's also off the bottle) and she sleeps from 7:30pm till about 8am or later

Mylicon Gas Drops worked wonders in preventing any gassy tummy for my two.

Our youngest is 18 months, sometimes she will sleep through the night and other times she wakes up. When she wakes up she comes and just climbs in our bed with us not waking me or dh. About the co-sleeping - I really don’t see anything wrong with babies/toddlers sleeping with their parents occasionally, once they reach school age though it should quit, and as long as it’s not an every night occurrence it shouldn’t be a hard habit to break.

Try the soy milk. It won't hurt him and you'll know within a few days whether that was the problem or not.

We put a radio in babies room. Played music all night long. Worked like a champ!

Both of mine took about a year. The first one (breast fed) was fussier.

I would like to have those two years back.

Mine was 18 months before I think we got a good night's sleep. He had a LOT of energy and never would even nap. Not a sleeper at all.
