If you file a complaint with the Department of Social Services (DSS), I believe they will conduct a complete investigation based on your compaint. Talk to Kathy Raley at DSS, I hear she's a tough one on issues such as yours.

been there done that they will not file a emergency hearing because they dont believe that he is in immediate danger. the police will not do it unless i have proof, i have tried. I have already filed for sole custody but they wont grant the emergency hearing. they told me that my son has to be hurt before anything will be done

If you are in maryland you do not have to prove the child has been hurt to get an ex par te order. Just that the child is in danger. You need a better lawyer. I've been there I know.

Blah.. Blah...Blah
Thats alright.. My stepson overdosed on pills at the mothers house at the age of 3, did not have a hot water heater for like a year, was sleeping and my stepson was going down 235 on a tricycle. Social services said they couldn't do anything. My sister in law is a social worker in Pennsylvania. She said that the child should have been removed when he overdosed and when there was no hot water heater. So I don't have any faith in social services in this county.
