Where shall we go for dinner

Is this a price-per-person kinda thing or is it by meat? I've never been and would like to try it out, but I'd also like to know (approximately) how much it'll cost me. $150 a couple or so?
I want to say that it is like $63 per person, but all you can eat....whatever you want to eat.

Delicious.

There is no way that I have the capacity to eat $60+ worth of food, but I will splurge on this because the food is so damn good.

Seriously good.

Depends on what you drink. You get the enormous salad bar, then they bring around the meats, and they also have several side dishes on the table. It's $50 a head for the food, then whatever you have for beverage, plus dessert isn't included. But if you can eat dessert after all that, you're a hell of a woman.

Dinner is $48.50 per person :yikes: but well worth it.

Thanks, ladies! Is it all the meat you want of any variety or do you choose one cut and that's it?

$100 is not bad considering what you get it sounds like. Heck, we pay that (and more with drinks) when we go to Annapolis or CD Cafe in Solomons.

Whatever you want. They bring the meats around to the tables on a spit, and carve it off for you. You can have a bite of everything.

The gauchos bring the meat to you on enormous skewers and slice it onto your plate. You are given a disk you place beside your plate - green side up if you want more and red side up if you don't want them to bother you right now.

Just be careful about the drink prices, especially the after dinner ones on the tray they bring around. :killingme

This is amazing! Wife and I just went this past Sunday for the first time, but we've been planning for weeks. It is my new favorite restaurant. I could NOT drain a glass or empty a plate without staff rushing to replace it. They even pulled out my chair for me and helped me in. I have never seen such outstanding service in my life, and the food was the best I have ever had.

And everyone is right about those cheese things. I hate bread, and I ate a lot of them.

I love that place.

And I'm going to go on-line and find me some sour tapioca flour and learn to make them myself. They are awesome.
Are these the same as the chiapas at Ruddy Duck?

It's too bad that 94th Areo Squadron is closed. I thought that place was awesome. One of the best restruants I've ever been to.

The cheese bread thingies at Ruddy Duck are just so-so as far as I'm concerned.

The cheese bread thingies at Fogo are unbelievable. They are so light they almost float up in to your mouth, where they tingle your tongue with pure cheesy deliciousness.

Really, there is no comparison between the two.

Try Fogo, and you'll see what I mean.

Incidentally, the guys at Fogo wearing the gauchos, ascot and belt? Those are the actual CHEFS. If someone comes to your table wearing that, you're talking to the guy who cooked it, and he's been trained for years in Brazil before even working there.

I cannot say enough about how great this place is.

We've been to Shula's and Ruth's Cris. Both very nice, but I have to say that Fogo's was a very different kind of experience. It was perfect for the type of meal we wanted - comfortable and yummy and enjoyable. We had a lot of fun trying everything and hunting down our favorites for more. We mentioned in passing to the waiter that it was a birthday dinner (he was asking why we'd driven "all the way" from southern Maryland) and sure enough, to everyone's surprise, a molten chocolate cake desert with a candle and happy birthday written in sauce appeared just before we finished up.

We went to the one in DC; we called beforehand and were told reservations were REQUIRED. It was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday night but we were seated in less than 3 minutes after arriving. We valet parked because we didn't feel like looking for parking and we were already a few minutes late for our reservation.

$50 per person (plus drinks), well worth it, considering what we would have spent had we gone to Ruth's or Shula's or McCormicks, though money wasn't really a consideration since it was a birthday dinner. I'm definitely going to recommend this whenever someone's looking for someplace to go. Thanks again for the great suggestion.

Will my wife, who requires all meat be cooked well done, be able to find anything there?
