Why People Believe Americans Are Stupid

so how long does the surge have to last?

couple years?

5?

Just curious (seriously).
Seriously, how long have we been in Japan and Germany since WWII? I'd say once the country can protect itself. Given that the bulk of the country sucked off the teat of the oil money instead of doing anything for getting by, it will take a while to get the culture such that they are willing to stand up for themselves.

I believe most of his disapproval rating comes from the unfavorable bias in the media. Since most Americans are dumb like you libs say, they will soon begin to believe what your machine tells it over and over and over and over again.

did you hear the surge is working? The violence in Iraq is very low right now.

PsyOps is going to be very disappointed that you broke out "liberal media" before he had the chance. He lives for that! :lmao:

Yes, I have heard that violence is down in Iraq. That's excellent news. What I haven't heard is that the Iraqi government has taken advantage of this drop in violence and accomplished much of anything. That was the whole point of the surge, wasn't it?

Oh....and are you blaming "us libs" for what Australian television puts out?

That would never happen. He'd veto the operation because America can't afford surgeries for sick children.

All of my public criticisms of Bush are for legitimate reasons. It's his fault his approval rating is so low...not mine.

Americans that CAN afford the surgery (or insurance) shouldn't receive gubermint welfare. We're a republic, not a socialist state.

... and yet GW's approval rating is higher than congress.

But, to work here, you'd have to admit he was elected, not appointed by his dad's cronies, or fixed computers in Ohio, or lying election judges, or.......

I have always admitted he was elected in 2004. I'll never figure out why....but he was.

Who pays for Bush's medical care....while he's President?

Well comparatively, our congress really gets a lot accomplished now doesn't it and they don't have IED's and shootings to deal with. Lets see they pass bills they know have no chance of being signed, and with no chance of over riding a veto just for spite. They hold up judicial nominations and leave judge ships vacant for months and years out of spite.

And that whole first 100 days thing really didn't work out for Nancy Pelosi did it?

And, 2000, when he got 5 or 6% higher than Clinton ever got in the popular vote, and every media attempt to recount votes in Florida proved the Supreme Court decision to follow the law and stop recounting made no difference in the outcome of the election? What did you think then?

That's easy.

This is why Bush was reelected:

Nobody voted FOR Bush. They voted against the nitwit displayed above. Just because someone doesn't like Bush doesn't mean they buy into the "Anybody But Bush" philosophy. I don't like the mother-####er, but I like him better than Kerry.

he's covered by his employer's health plan, I think. It's pretty good, from what I hear, but you have to work to get it. Like 99% of us with health insurance, you have to work to get it, or get help with it, or however yours works. No one gives it for free.

I thought that he lost the popular vote to Gore, which is really the only part of that election that mattered to me.

That mattered to you most even though both sides of the election understood, as does every American who passed their high school civics class, that we are a republic, not a democracy, and that's not how the process works?

I'm sure you've seen the breakdown, county by county, of who won that election, so clearly Gore was the stronger one who understood the whole process - since he was trying to use it to his advantage the most.

He works for the government and his health care is provided by his employer.
My health insurance is subsidized by my employer. Its a benifit of working where I do.

You do realize I worded it the way I did to explain this exact point, right - there is a huge difference between benefits of employment and a handout program. They don't give me his paycheck, they don't give me his transportation, they don't give me a staff, and they don't give me a cornerless office. And, I don't expect to be handed the benefits of employment for a job I don't do. I don't think anyone else should, either.

You didn't answer my questions, though. What did the S stand for? Where is it in the Constitution as my obligation as a taxpayer, through authority granted the federal government, to provide such things?

Yes, of course I understand that's how elections work in this country. Doesn't mean that how they should work...but it is what it is.

That's excellent for you. It's nice working somewhere with health benefits, isn't it? I have to pay for my own health insurance, but that's the way it is for more and more Americans.

Yes, I know what your wording was intended to do.

So...where does the money come from that funds the President's healthcare? Not from a private company...a private employer. It must come from somewhere else.

Hmmmmm.....
