Why People Believe Americans Are Stupid

Yes, of course I understand that's how elections work in this country. Doesn't mean that how they should work...but it is what it is.

Well, if we're going by how it should work, how did Clinton ever get elected? Both his elections had fraudulant votes for him, and even with that almost 60% of the voters didn't want him. And, why didn't we change the rules so Reagan could get a third term. And, how in the world did an idiot like Carter get anything above ambasador? And, why didn't Nixon fight Kennedy like Gore fought Bush..........

Yes, I know what your wording was intended to do.

So...where does the money come from that funds the President's healthcare? Not from a private company...a private employer. It must come from somewhere else.

Hmmmmm.....

The same place as the do nothing congress and every other federal employee.

In the Clinton administration I believe it came from a guy named Woo from China.

That's excellent for you. It's nice working somewhere with health benefits, isn't it? I have to pay for my own health insurance, but that's the way it is for more and more Americans.
But, see, that's a choice you have. Don't like it, go to another employer. When your employer realizes they're losing good people for benefits issues, they'll change the benefits, or they'll lose the good people and go out of business.

That's called market correction.

Perhaps you just need to look at the total compensation package (as I'm sure your HR dept rep has told you).

THANK YOU!!!!

You win a beer.
Are you trying to imply that no federal employee should receive a worker's benefit of health insurance, like they would with a private company? Or, are you trying to imply that all people should be paid income, vacation, uniforms, a place to work, etc., off of government funds?

Either way, it doesn't make much sense. Unless you don't see the difference between a government subsidized health plan for all Americans and a benefit of employment?

Which one is it?

It's not that Americans are stupid, it's that they are techno-retards! Did you hear how they all paused on questions about our country but didn't even hesitate on questions about TELEVISION? There is a serious difference in people today thanks to technology. Think back: most of us remember playing games face to face with other kids. Physical games, board games & competing against each other. Most video games today are kids against the machine. People's faces are buried in a cell phone, ipod & TV, and we wonder why all they want to do is fight or the other "F" word. It's not so much that people are stupid, it's just that they have very little desire for anything but what they see on TV. Kids are being forced to grow up too young, and many parents are going it alone, which makes them BOTH unhappy. Kids aren't told to put American patriotism first as we were. Kids also remember what they need to in school, then quickly forget after the test. Why does anyone need to remember the address of the White House in today's world? The values in our society have changed for the worse I'm sad to say.

The President's healthcare is indeed an employment benefit. Why should people who are not employed get employment benefits?
