Why you women get into trouble

Men are the ones who cling to ratty t-shirts they've had since high school that no longer fit them; women throw their old crap away.

I have one T-Shirt from the Motley Crue Dr Feelgood tour, it was signed by Tommy Lee!

Men are almost always the spendy ones in a relationship; women are the tightwads who say no to all the toys he wants to buy.

Hey DoWhat, have you seen this?

Probably best if I *duckforcover* when the female forumites see it.

Not seeing it - for one, I don't know a single woman who doesn't have at least one, if not several pieces of clothing she wants to fit BACK into, someday. I've almost never seen a woman willingly throw away a handbag.

(Proviso - most "men" have somewhat ratty clothes even if they DO fit them - the ones who have stylish, nice clothes - well I've already answered that part).

Men also have a different definition of "crap". If you have 100 pairs of shoes and you haven't worn 80% of them in years, then 80% of them are crap, no matter how they fit. You think our coat is "crap" because it's a little worn - but it does the job of keeping us warm, whereas you have two dozen coats in pristine condition, but you only ever wear three. Since we're into function, twenty one of those coats are crap. You MAY eventually start to wear them when others wear out, but then you're just wasting precious space with crap you're not using.

I've moved men - and women - from one house to another. I've yet to meet a woman who didn't have more stuff than she even knew she had, but I've met scores of men who could have fit all their stuff onto one pickup truck load - with room to spare. I once moved to New England with everything I owned in the back seat of a compact car.

You do know one woman who doesn't keep old handbags and clothes :howdy: And I just cleaned out my shoes and took like 80 pairs to Vintage Values, so I don't even have those hanging around.

I will be going to the beach for a week and will take ONE bag that will hold everything I need. My companion says he will believe that when he sees it, but I have a witness in Im_Me that I am a minimalist. And Larry Gude will tell you, too.
