Young Virgin Spanking the Infant Jesus.....

The hatchet is still buried, we are debating what Jesus would do. You are claiming he would do what you did. I am disagreeing.

First of all... I have held no grudge. I believe I already stated that. I did invoke your name to illicit a response. I did this with the knowledge that you don't really get bothered by that kind of thing; tell me I'm wrong. Therefore, there was no desire to upset you; only to invoke a response.

Secondly, Jesus frequently invoked the Pharisees when he would say "don't do as the hypocrites do"

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others." - Matthew 6:2-5

It was common for Jesus to use examples of people as a means to show people what to do or not to do. He also did this with full knowledge that it would incite them to anger; which it did. They had Him put to death.

That's some intellectually dishonest BS right there....

Jesus did not instigate people over petty grievances. He taught forgive and forget, turn the other cheek and love your enemies.

Jesus' harsh words were reserved for those teaching false doctrine and perverting the scriptures.

Pot meet kettle. You are notorious for instigating people in this forum; over what? Real stuff? Now you go on and justify why you routinely engage in name-calling, disparagement, and treating folks with contempt.

It didn't take long for this to go south.

I'm not the one defending trolling with scripture.
Again, I don't think that is what Jesus would do.

Given your tactics in this forum, I don't think you're in a position to say what Jesus would do in regards to others' tactics. Clear the plank for your own eye...

I at least apologized/asked for forgiveness for what I did.

Again, I'm not trying to justify my actions with scripture.

However, I can certainly speak to what the Jesus of the bible might do in a similar situation. One really has little to do with the other

And what exactly would Jesus do in a similar situation?

As I said, he preached turn the other cheek, love your enemy, etc.

I turned the other cheek through my apology? You're not, never have you been, my enemy. So where are you going with this?

I can tell you that Jesus not not apologize for how He treated the Pharisees, nor did He turn the other cheek.

I'm not going anywhere with it. I am telling you what Jesus taught. You keep turning to passages about Jesus confronting rabbis over false teachings and other blasphemy. Those passages don't apply to a petty disagreement over a difference of opinion or perceived political leanings.

It annoys me when you all don't like to think, and just like to react without thinking. I don't find that terribly interesting or insightful.
