I think it's on its way to Bangladesh...
 I don't doubt that. It will be more well-traveled than you are. Hope you at least got the room you were looking to get down there and are enjoying an ocean view. :yay:

Last time I flew, I did only carry-on. My coworker who went with me checked his (same type of bag) and it came out ripped open and smashed to hell. :ohwell:

AC/DC

Lord, I apologize.
I flew for the first time when I was 27 years old......we landed in a blizzard and spent 12 hours in the terminal......:yay:

 I would have loved to have seen them in concert.

They get up every morning from their alarm clock's warning
Take the eight fifteen into the city
There's a whistle up above and people push and people shoving
And the girl's who try to look pretty
And if your train's on time you can get to work by nine
And start to sleep and talk to get your pay
If you ever get annoyed look at me I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day

And I've been taking care of business every day...

Wow, that's awful. The first time I remember flying was going up to Massachusetts from here to spend a few weeks with my uncle and aunt. They couldn't get seats all together for all of us three kids. I sat next to a nun who was sure we were going to crash and prayed feverishly the entire flight. :twitch:

 Did you tell her that you were sure that the plane would take you all the way to the crash site?? :killingme :killingme

I probably should have, but I was only about 9 or 10. She scared the snot out of me, though, and I still get nervous about flying but once I'm in the air, I'm fine. :yay:

First personal radio: A crystal set, built from scratch. One lead attached to the bedsprings, the other to the radiator. I listened to WTOP and (I think it was) WPGC at night. Had a single earphone I stuck in my ear.

First favorite song: "Take Five" by the Dave Brubeck quartet

First musical instrument: A fake one - a piece of plywood cut out to look like an electric guitar. Some buddies of mine all had them, and we'd lip-synch to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

First REAL musical instrument: A harmonica. Learned to play blues, bought more, joined a band, played gigs, had a great time. Then the time came to make some money, so I had to quit the band (couldn't show up for practice), and so I avoided fame and fortune, successfully winning my spot in the real world.

:notworthy One of my all-time favorites! :yay: I've seen him in concert three times and he is just AWESOME. I caught "Ken Burn's Jazz" on PBS where he explained how the song came about. :yay:

My first real favorite song other than rock was "Sing, Sing, Sing" by Benny Goodman. I loved playing the piece in the marching band in high school. I still love it and the big band sound today.

I like "Sing, Sing, Sing," too! My Dad's favorites were Stan Kenton's "Artistry in Rhythm" and Duke Ellington's "'A' Train."

I have another first, along the same lines: The night I returned from the Persian Gulf, my wife and I booked a room in Annapolis, and ate supper in the Maryland House. As we were eating, a small combo came in and set up, and commenced to play some awesome jazz - turned out to be Charlie Byrd! And we escaped paying the cover because we were (I guess) unnoticed, even though we were probably 20 feet from Charlie himself.
