I read about this.........it sounds like the boy was unmedicated and suffered from an expolsive disorder. These kids can be very scary, all the butt whippings in the world probably could not have helped him. I have dealt with these types of children and even medicated they can be out of control.

A year or two after I graduated from high school, a brother of a friend of mine came home and shot his mother and brother dead over a report card. He was 15 at the time, but this happened in Charles County. It was a tragedy to the community and the father was a successful, well-known individual, and not some ghetto garbage. The description of the boy read the same as this one.

I never thought I'd hear about a child younger than that capable of committing such a horrid act.

But if found responsible for the deaths, the boy could be held until he is 21 years of age.

I find that a little disappointing if I am understanding it correctly. I understand the whole charging a minor thing, but I just cannot feel comfortable that he will be rehabilitated within the next 9 years.

I saw some interviews on the news, and nobody was surprised. The neighbors knew the kid had problems. It's too bad mom didn't get him help, and it's too bad the younger kid had to pay for it. Three lives ruined. Even if the kid does get out at 21, what kind of life is he in for? He'll probably be back in after a few years. I just hope next time it isn't an innocent kid again.

Its sad all the way around. Not to blame the victim in the case but it makes you wonder where she went wrong. I do understand that kids can come from perfectly well adjusted homes with one or two good parents but it makes me wonder if it was no surprise to an entire neighborhood then why was it not apparent to the mother? I hate to blame her because I am sure she was doing the very best that she could but I am sure that other adults who could have grabbed this bull by the horns, teachers, other relatives, etc. should have done something.

While what this kid did was completely wrong and I do believe at 12 you are pretty much capable of understanding your actions although you may be a little sketchy on the consequences of those actions, meaning you understand that if you beat someone with a pipe, there is a possibility that they can die however you may not understand that you can get the death penalty for that, I also believe that an entire community failed him.

kids between the ages of 11-17 tend to have an invincibilty/invulnerablity complex. They rarely have any idea of the full extent of thier actions... I dont think there is anyone specifcally to blame, it is just really sad.

I think that the child was extremely messed up in the head and should have been committed in order to save him (and them).

From what I gathered from this mornings Fox News report . The mom was planning to send the boy to his dad's in North Carolina this summer. Apparently she had to take off of work often because he got in trouble at school.

What is that about? How can you put a generalization on all people from a low income area? How can you expect, "ghetto garbage" as you so eloquently put it to have any hope with a statement like that? Straight BS!

So you can't be successful and live in a bad part of town?

You certainly could, but why would you be that stupid?

If you're successful, why literally give it away to the bad part of town?

That's just irrational.

How would a bad part of town ever come up and become safe if everyone just moves away? Running from this problem will just cause it to spread farther.

Put a lid on it juggy.

I don’t even see why you are even offended. So I mentioned “ghetto,” this incident occurred in Forestville, are you familiar with the area where this occurred? It is my idea of a ghetto. So ghetto ghetto ghetto. :neener:

My point was that these types of things happen with no regard to social or economic boundaries.
