I met my husband at the vet's office. I gave my name and number to the receptionist to give to him under the impression that we had talked about setting up a ferret play date and I had forgotten to give him my number.

No, I'm just shy as heck and would have passed out if I had done the more direct approach. Plus that gave him the option of not calling me back since we both knew the play date thing was a lie. I also didn't risk getting rejected to my face. Score one for the shy girl!!!!

I thought about this thread when I was in Giant the other day. I'm not a shy person but I just can't imagine meeting someone in the grocery store. I had to make myself make eye contact, something that is much less difficult after a couple of beers.
