ACCIDENTS KEEP PILING UP

When police do reconstruction of accidents a lot of math is used in order to accurately reconstruct what happened.

Sure is. But we rarely get to see all of that. I was surprised they released his speed. I was not surprised it was a good bit over my estimate. And they get black box data from the car, throttle, brake, maybe steering. That's why I keep my math to what I can know. I know where vehicles are first possibly visible, and how far it is from there to the impact point.

Accident over near Spring Ridge Middle School at the moment and if I heard correctly there are poles down and the road is closed.

Accidents keep piling up. I guess it has become something we accept as part of the risk. Last Thursday on 235 I was headed North bound in the St. James area. A car came head on in my lane. I got out of the way barely in time. Most people don't survive head ons. Later on and in to the evening on the way home, I observed at least ten vehicles going across the white line and on to the shoulder and back. A guy was driving down the shoulder instead of the road. He eventually came back on the road. Everywhere you turn, you hear on the radio, on line News, the Enterprise and the County Times and even every now and then the Washington D.C. TV stations about a single vehicle that went off of the road in Southern Maryland and hit a tree, a car or a house. Usually folks do not survive these type of accidents.
Another roll over accident in Dameron this evening. I think we just had one in Damerion a week or so ago? Not sure if the person survived or not. Distracted or DUI? In either case, the car is done.

This story gets better and better. Do high speed chases ever end well?

Not surprised.

So we had all these elements, four so badly hurt, they all needed costly air transportation, possibly gunfire, and a high speed police chase, yet almost a week later, no arrests, updates? Seems odd?

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

Investigation needs to be completed. Then you need Probable Cause for an arrest.

So I lead the po-po on a high speed chase, I'm not arrested?
In Maryland, a Trooper can arrest you for reckless driving if you are exceeding the speed limit by 20 miles per hour or more; essentially, driving significantly above the posted speed limit is considered reckless driving and can lead to an arrest
