Am I just getting older or what????

I have a 17 year old who just got her license last week. As of Oct. 1 they aren't supposed to have anyone else in the car with them when they have their provisionals. MVA sent us a letter about it. I'm glad of it. She's a responsible driver when I'm in the car with her. But now she'll have free reign and I worry. I don't want her repsonsible for anothers children. I am not stupid enough to think she always drives as responsibly as she does when Moms watching. And you let me find out she's sneaking a radar dectector and the keys will stay out of her hands.

It's a scary thing.... Letting your 17 year old drive off on her own...but you can't keep 'em home forever. Or at least I haven't figured out a way too.

i hate to say this but as times change technology, culture, and styles change. as steve said yall had big blocks and 8 tracks. u had fun with what you have. now its our turn to make noise and have fun. why u go on bashing audio systems or "ghetto thumpers" as you call them i have no idea. i know many over 30 ppl with systems in their cars. o and just because some teens wrap themselves around poles doesnt mean we are all stupid. and one more thing. RAILROAD if your gonna bash someone for making a typo please make sure you dont have any you don't do commonsense. IF im correct which ive asked a few ppl so i believe i am... common sense is 2 words not one.
Just turn the music down. You may like it, but I don't. You ARE supid if you have the sound system up that loud. I DO NOT want to hear your bass. I don't want to hear the thumping, nor does anyone else. Turn it down, azzhat. What makes you think everyone wants to listen to what you want to listen to????????

There are noise laws up here - don't know if it's a state or just local thing but kids get pulled over all the time and ticketed if their car is too loud or their radio is blasting away.

I believe the law is 50 ft, if your "music" can be heard farther away than that in your car, you can be ticketed.

yes cars are faster now and so is the technology, like yall had drum brakes all around to stop you doing over a hundred WAY MORE DANGEROUS! then rotors, and pads. Pluss, in the 70's did you have traction controll? if i start spinning tires, at high rmps, it dumps cylinders off the moter, you prolly went all over the road

You are correct. :yay:

§ 21-1122. Noise limitations on use of sound amplification systems.

(a) Definitions.- In this section, "sound amplification system" means a compact disc player, a radio, a tape player, or a similar device.

(c) Prohibited acts.- When a motor vehicle is being operated on a highway, the driver of the vehicle may not operate or permit the operation of a sound amplification system from the vehicle that can be heard outside the vehicle from 50 or more feet.

Can get someone a fine of up to $500. Maybe they should enforce it a little more often.

well until i get ticketed by a cop for my system being too loud it will continue to be. and ofcourse im not dumb enough to have it up when any are nearby and i pay close attention to who and what is around me so i will prolly never get into any trouble. as for whoever owned the t-bird... we hang at target and go ahead and bring your car up there. if you wanna race i can almost guarantee one of my buddys there will wax that ass. :spank: and as steve said we could all be out doing worse stuff then listening to music and racing like bashing mailboxes and terrorizing little kids and drugs and alcohol and the list goes on. so next time you think that loud music and racing is the worst thing in the world think again. and i am by no means condoling street racing. if you do it atleast be safe.

EDIT
and to whomever claims so... i am by far the most unignorant person you will ever meet. these "adults" are so cynical it isnt even funny. they look at a topic and pick out all the bad sides to it and thats the end of the story. there wouldnt be so much bashing going on if they would look at both ends of the spectrum.

Puctuation can be your friend. Instead of hanging at Target, how about going to the library or taking some special classes after school, learning about grammar and such. About your post,I am an igorant adult who has been driving for 30 years. When you are entertaining the hood with your music, do you have to entertain everyone else with your music? Do you talk on your cell phone while you are driving? Just curious. Guess what? As ignorant as I am, I got rear-ended. twice, by people less than 18 who were: tallking on their cell phone with the boom boom boom on.... Hmmmm.

no i do not talk on my cell while driving. and while im thinking about it today on my way home from work some ass driving a nice new blue and white silverado tried to literally run me off the road while cutting me off. and guess what he wasnt using his turn signal either. i would be willing to bet that half of accidents involving teens were caused by the other IGNORANT ADULT failing to yeild or use the turnsignals.... i call this the blinker delete option. i mustve counted 20 or so IGNORANT ADULTS failing to use turnsignals on the way to my girlfriends house earlier. and btw i dropped out of highschool and am doing better than most my age in my position. schooling did nothing for me other than introduce drugs and sex. how about you IGNORANT ADULTS do something about the shitty education systems around here instead of jumping on the teenager's case for a few that made mistakes.

o and for you IGNORANT ADULTS.... jeez i love that word.... its not that i cant spell or punctuate correctly... its called shorthand or internet lingo. but wait yall are prolly too old to understand. let me break it down.... the way i type is used to speed up the process using fewer words or letters to get the point across faster. :stooges:

I don't think dropping out of high school was a good thing, so you dropped out of high school because of the shiatty education system? Or because you just were too lazy to study and get through high school? High school is the EASIEST thing you will ever do. Dropping out is a cop-out. Guess what? People don't want to hire drop-outs, even if they have a GED. I don't know what you do for a living - I'm guessing construction or something, but at some point, you will want or need to have a real job with REAL benefits. Guess what? You dropped out of school and people are not going to want to hire you. Trust me. I'm in the business of hiring people.
