Rumors on the Fox (Channel 5) morning news were that he didn't want to be tied into the Idol's contract if he won. Plus they reported that his Mom didn't even know he quit the show until a reporter contacted her about it.

I agree with Dems - no big loss. I acutally liked Smith better anyway.

Thanks! What a jerk... I never thought he was all that to begin with and the first night he sang and the judges liked him, I just about flipped... who the heck where they listening too? It wasn't the Mario I'd just listened too? Eitherway, I'm glad he's doing it this way... obviously he's already gotten too big for his britches and he's only been on there for a matter of weeks, I can just imagine the arrogance and conceit if he was to actually win. Hope he flops and comes back down to reality sometime soon and realizes he had a golden opportunity but instead got full of himself instead. There's a proverb for this I think... Something about Pride before a fall.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Smith won?


I'm glad to see him back. I thought he was very good (better than Mario, in my opinion, although Mario is better than most of the remaining contestants).

While Anthony is not my favorite I thought he did really well last night as did Nadia and Bo. I was disappointed in Carrie's performance. I thought Scott looked a little stiff especially when he was going up and down the stairs to the stage during his song. Not as smooth as when Bo did it. Mickela was AWFUL!!!! The rest were just so-so.

My personal favorite has been Bo. (Maybe because of the fact that the "rock" style would never be expected to win on a show like American Idol).

Nadia's most recent performance was great though!

I don't usually get into this show. For some reason, it has grabbed my interest.

Nikko still sucks, can't he sing without checking his package? Nadia still shines and everyone seemed kinda nervous.

I think Nadia definately will win this... I still like Jessica but I think she is playing way too safe and has resorted to dressing like bar room brothel lady or something :shrug: I also like Ferdinov

WHY did they keep Michela? Of the two left on stage at the end last night she gave the worst performance. Hopefully she will be gone after next week.

Yeah she did give weak performances but the other one wasn't any better. She never lost that annoying accent when she sang so it just ruined all of her performances for me.

I still don't get the hostility or tension that was between Michaela and Paula when Paula asked her if she liked Barbara Streisand (as she looks like one with black hair) - Michaela said ... ummm no... Paula said "yes you do" and this banter went back and forth a few times... Still trying to catch up and read into things correclty...

Have you noticed the changes, like Bo's hair was all silky last night? The make-up people are starting to work on them.

Yes, they do that once you make the final 12 - you get your own stylst or something or other and vocal training, etc.... I'm not wild about Bo or the other rocker Constintine though...

I like Bo also and don't really care one way or the other about Constantine. I think Nikko was extremely bad and should have gone before Lindsey. And Michela shouldn't even have made the top 12.

I like Michela.. I think she is funny. I have not liked her last 2 performances but I am hoping she will get it together and do something fun. I was REALLY impressed with Nadia!

I like Anwar, Nadia, and Bo. Sometimes Anthony and Carrie. But the first three - while not always liking the songs they choose - always perform them really well and show how much talent they have.

Scott lost it for me at the very beginning by not working with his group. That attitude screams - DIVA (sorry don't know the male equivalent for this word).

Scott was good too. I felt like he was trying to sing straight to his dad.

I like them both and I'm not a big Bo fan but his song last night was so good. "Time in a Bottle"
