The simple answer is that all motorcycles need to be banned! Outlaw them! Thousands are dying because of motorcycle accidents, so ban them all.

That's the logic the gun-controllers use, why not apply it here also????

:sarcasm: (I used to ride also...)

a hell of a lot more die from drunk drivers. so lets ban alchohal too . after all its no the poor saps fault that he/she doesn't know how to call a cab.

With gas prices the way they are today, maybe they should think about banning cars and force everyone to ride.

maybe if you had to have a motorcycle liscense for 2 years before you could drive a car then every driver would be more careful and aware :buddies:

if they are ever to get peoples attention they are going to have to make penalties for harming motorcyclist more severe. in cali where lane splitting is legal to allow motorcyclist to bypass congestion, they have had to charge people who open their doors infront of motorcycles with attempted murder.

Intentionally placing a steel barrier in front of a moving motorcycle IS an attempt to kill the operator but having your head up your azz is not.
Our legislators decided last year that increasing the penalty for causing serious injury or death when failing to yield would not benefit their constituents, environmentalists, trial lawyers and unions, so no action was taken.

The AMA started a program called Justice for All after SD congressman Bill Janklow blew through a stop sign at well over the speed limit and murdered a motorcyclist.
He got 100 days in jail.
