My cats do go out. I feel like they are entitled to enjoy the earth too.
:yay: and that helps with keeping the noise down from all those pesky song birds. Nothing worse than having to listen to birds sing.

How about a cover for your car(s) since it doesn't sound like you have a garage?
Southern States sells live traps too, you could sit one out in plain view near the driveway bait it with canned cat food, and take them away one by one. If you don't hide the trap, they'll get the message eventually.

But still again, this option requires an putput of money by an innocent victim in this scenario. The owners of the offending cats should be responsibile and take care of their animals so they cause no adverse impact to the neighbors. Why should the people who are being affected by the roaming cats be financially impacted?

You should catch the cats, then spray paint something like "stay the eff of my lawn", the owners would get the point eventually.

Yeah but innocent or not, until the owners of the cats do something to remedy the situation, she's still going to get her car scratched.

I think the car cover is a good idea. It will be useful for protection against cats and weather

The neighbor has to die, and the animal be taken to the nearest of kin.

Im sorry that this seems so harsh, but it is how it must happen.

glad I could help.

I truly admire your analytical ability and how quickly you arrive at the proper solution. I attempted to give you green, however I was rebuffed saying I had to spread it around.

Start letting your dogs roam free, crapping in their yard, and train them to sleep on their cars when they're not around. :yay:

Because a person can control his own actions, not the actions of others. Cats roam. If they are in the habit of being let out, they'll roam. It it's not that neighbor it will be some other one, or a cat will be dumped in the neighborhood. And a car cover comes in handy anyways. Right?

And i'm a control FREAK

You must be rich, too, to take on the financial responsibilities of other irresponsible pet owners.

I wish I were rich.

Yeah and the car cover will be about $200 for one of the cars. No thanks, I will just go against all that I believe and call animal control, if that does not work, then I guess I will take matters into my own hands.

Other people on our street have cats and guess what? we don't have this issue.

As for cats roaming....uh, I have 2 cats and they don't roam. Why? Because they are strictly indoor cats, I make sure that my animals do not inflict problems on anyone else.

This is not the only issue w/ this neighbor, we had an issue when we first moved in that every morning at about 7am the little girl would show up to play with my daughter. With her, she brought her 3 year old brother who had a big old pacifier in his mouth and a backpack on his back full of his own toys and diapers. Like I was just supposed to watch this kid when my daughter was 8 years old and I have no 3 year old. We at times would also look out our back window and see the kids playing on my daughters trampoline with their friends like they owned the thing and my daughter would not even be home or outside with them. Its an ongoing issue of disrespect for other peoples property and while I hate to see another animal die, I refuse to be a victim to the fact that they are inconsiderate and fail to take responsibilty for their own actions. I also refuse to spend money to purchase things for something that is not my fault. I pay my car payments, that is enough!

I've had neighbors like this. I've always said, there's nothing worse than trailer park trash with money.

The suggestion of covers & fences bothers me. Why should the neighbor be inconvienced in any way because of [your] animals? Car covers are a PITA to use daily. Cats can climb/jump over fences.

A scratch on a car is no big deal? :smack:

People think it's ok to let their cats run free but a dog owner would be chastized. We have leash laws for cats in Calvert but they are rarely enforced like they are for dogs.

No, if you were truly a control freak, you'd be telling them to shoot the cats.. it's your property you are in CONTROL of it.. don't let the cats or your neighbors intrude on your controlling your "area"..

Putting up a fence is in no way a CONTROL issue, it's a way of giving up control.

One word: antifreeze.

Spilled antifreeze will kill dogs, because they will eagerly lap it up for its sweet taste. But cats will not be attracted to antifreeze because they do not possess taste buds for sweetness.

It was a joke. You had to be here a few years ago to get it.

One of my co-workers solved her problem with her neighbor. She got a cage, harmlessly trapped the offending pet and drove to the next county to the shelter there.

Whether they ever got their pet back again is unknown, but she never had to deal with it again.

I understand you concern but I am torn. We have a cat that was a rescue as a kitten (found hanging around hubby's office). We had it fixed so we would not add to the population, however it refused to be a totally indoor cat. Gosh knows we tried, but the cat would pee on my clean, folded laundry right in front of me!!! The problem was that it wanted to be able to go out and come in when it wanted to. I know that it roams the neighborhood and luckily we have not gotten any complaints, but what should we have done? Sent it to a shelter where it would eventually be put down? Live with a cat urine on everything we own?
